Here's to things going better for you, but I have some answers of my own.
How do you reassure your partner that they have nothing to worry about? (Other than just saying it, because right now I feel like that's the only thing I can do)
We share several friends in our online gaming circle and it's mixed-gender. Everyone here is used to men and women being together so it's not too common to interpret everything as potentially romantic, which helps us. If you know the people they're around, or at least know a little about them, it's easier to look at them as just a nice person and not a potential threat.
How do you stop yourself from letting your mind run wild and keep the crazy from coming out?
I think this comes with life experience dealing with anxiety and worry. I used to be a worrywart about everything, but I found that thinking wasn't a solution and exhausted my energy for things I did need. Worrying about an unlikely scenario that may be drains your time and happiness from what is.
At 2am, there's very little to be done about class or a job interview the next day. And you can't control if someone cheats or not by keeping them away from others. So I try to put it out of my mind and trust in our ability to deal with problems, when there are problems for us to deal with. Not before.
How do you deal with a worrying partner when you want to console and reassure them but at the same time, you feel like they don't trust you?
My partner doesn't tend to worry, but in the past I've only been able to verbally reassure these people that I'm happy with them. I think there's a limit to what you can do because if someone is deeply terrified of cheating, that's a fear that's inside their mind and not inside your actions or your words.
What are some things you do for each other to remind each other how much you love and trust each other?
I make sure I give him extra special attention that others don't get, like time for just us to play and discuss, watch movies together, etc. I remind him that I care about him and think he's awesome often as well.
