I don't think he knows what it is ahah. I understand the concept though, but he is quite old fashioned. So, he would not lose time with a promise ring I think
Hopefully, all my worries are not rational and this will not be his gift for me.

I've seen it a lot with older teens and people in their 20's. Not quite ready to commit to getting engaged but apparently a promise that it's in the future for them.

I can understand the concept...just don't understand why those are needed..but live and let live I guess

A lot of people get promise rings because they want to make a promise to be togetehr but dont wan to get engaged right now. My SO and I have promise rings because we're uncertain of when we'll be able to be together and don't want to be engaged for several years before actually getting married. it just works better that way for some people :3
