    Cliché Gifts?

Do you like cliché gifts? Like, chocolates and flowers? Or a small teddy and flowers? Or something like that?
I personally love cliché gifts like that. I don't know but do you's think that cliché gifts are more
appreciated in Long Distance Relationships or in Close Distance Relationships?
And what kind of gifts would you class as "Cliché"?

I like any kind of gift- traditional (cliche) OR creative.

My boyfriend usually tries to be creative with the flowers he sends me. But for my birthday he got me the traditional dozen long-stem red roses. I love them!

      Awwww Rachel that sounds lovely!

I love every single gift my other half gets me, he's so cute and picks out everything so
well. But I would love anything from him (:

I personally prefer original or creative over cliche gifts, but honestly - any gift is a good gift.

From Jesse I've received, among other things; chocolate, concert tickets, Trigun manga and two of his band t-shirts.

I don't really like cliche gifts, at least not for birthdays, Christmas or other special occasions. They seem like the easy way out. For "just because", they're really nice, though. Then again, I never get "just because" gifts...

If you're in another country than your SO, chocolate as a gift certainly works better LD, because chocolate tastes differently everywhere.

I absolutely love that stuff. Unfortunately I've never actually gotten any of it. ^^; But it's material things so they don't really matter too much. I just think they're cute.

I think that as long as it's from the heart, it shouldn't matter. My guy is in college and I'm still in high school so there often isn't enough money to do something extraordinary, so the old standards are always nice, although I know that creative gifts CAN be cheap, if you're smart about it.

I got no problem with any gift, because even if it's cliche or maybe you don't even like it, for me it's special that he thought of me and got it for me! My SO is not big about gifts, he says he never knows what to get. And lol, believe it or not he has never gotten me flowers nor chocolate! (Which I find odd) He goes more on the creative side, or even practical side of gifts. But I wouldn't mind getting a nice box of chocolates!

My boyfriend hasn't sent me any cliche gifts yet, so I think I've been kind of spoiled. He starts thinking about what to get me months in advance. It doesn't have to be expensive, but I like personal gifts

Now, if he got me flowers or chocolate for my birthday, I'd kind of feel like he forgot about it, and just went to the grocery store to pick something up last minute. If it was a supplement to the real gift, or a "just because" or Valentine's gift, I'd be happy about it though.

To me, any gift is a good one... but I love flowers & chocolates. :-)
I love Paul's way of doing things: he just gets a load of random things he knows I'll like instead of one big expensive present. To me, it's the thought that counts rather than the money, or the present itself.

I LOVE getting chocolate since I'm addicted to it - seriously, I think about it all the time and Andy knows it

Flowers are never a bad move either but Andy told me he's not the flower-kinda-guy and I don't mind, as long as the chocolate's still there!

I love pretty much all cliche gifts: chocolates, teddy's, flowers etc. for "just because" or valentines or maybe anniversary, but for my birthday I expect more =P I'm also a big believer in flowers that AREN'T red roses. I love pink roses and white roses and most other types of roses, but red roses? ugh...they're all right when given with other colours too, but on they're own they are just sickeningly cliche. I love pretty much all flowers though =) I absolutely ADORE being given them and there's a vase in my room that I put flowers in whenever I have them. I actually collect teddy bears, so thats a great gift for me, and chocolate is just so yummy =D!

I think I already know what Alex has gotten me for valentines day. He says its "shiny" so from that I've concluded that it's jewellery, which is something I completely love!! Necklaces are something I adore, but I also love bracelets and earrings. Rings not so much, they get in the way too much. I certainly hope he hasn't gotten me a roll of aluminium foil...

I love any gift my other half get me, he always put so much work into it, finding
out what I would like, and likes to give me clues, but I don't like knowing what it
exactly it is, I love surprises!
It doesn't matter what the size for me, I know that's he's taken the time to think
                            about what I'd like.
And I do the same. I make a little list of what he would like, and maybe hints he's
                            dropped about gifts (:

I think they'd still be nice, especially considering how it could be neat receiving flowers from a distance. A bunch of it is the thought/ sentiment behind it. I can't really say how my guy is doing gift side as, beyond time (which is pretty swell), I have received none. Well, that is a bit of a lie, if we are together we try to give eachother small restaurant outings
