Need Advice - Attracting an Older Man

We never really spoke much because he was a friend, and still is, of my boyfriend. I had one long conversation with him and he was more than concerned about me messing up my life. He spent time out of his night to talk to me about my goals. I've known him for five years but he has a whole life, two kids, a girl friend, and different women in his life. It was difficult to understand his reasons for speaking with me the night I spoke to him. He's the type of lesson that is difficult to read.

I finally got his new number and sent him a message. I want to open him up to me so we can build a good friendship. I want to get to know him, but it seems like its going to be hard since I'm the only one texting him. The fact that he answer my message shows that he still has somewhat of a caring interest in me.

I really don't know what types of conversations to have with him since he's so far away. I know they say that the best way to keep an older guy interested is if you can take care of yourself. I just want build enough with him to get a phone call, but through text messages it's going to be difficult to see how he is feeling because he's so busy.

I don't know what I should do. Should I try and make an effort and him see my messages, call him from time to time, or just wait around to see if he will show interest back.

It's not quite clear to me, would you want to keep him as friend or you are interested in him in another way because your words made me sense that. I would say , if you want a friend, don't complicate it, be simple, text or call whenever you feel like it as long as you know he won't bother that too, he offered to listen to you and discuss your future with you so that's quite nice from him, or you can just offer him to be good friends .

Are you wondering how to make friends with this person, or are you trying to romantically get with him while you have a boyfriend and he has a girlfriend?
      So, here you are
      too foreign for home
      too foreign for here.
      Never enough for both.
