How to convince your parents to let you meet your LDR boyfriend

How can I convince my parents to let me meet my boyfriend? He just turned 18 & i’ll be 15 in November. He’s from California & i’m from Texas

Honestly? I wouldn't let you go meet him - you aren't old enough in either state to be dating him. You have a long time ahead of you - focus on yourself and school. Skype and stuff and stay in contact if you want but as far as dating goes take it slow you have so much ahead of you.

How long have you been in a relationship? Please be careful, the fact that you're 14 right now and he's 18 feels like quite a big red flag to me, honestly. I agree with Allurial 100% here.

I surely wouldn't let my daughter do that, sorry. In my opinion, 14 is a bit too young. Wait until you're 18...

          Hi,

I share the views of the commenters above and I have a feeling that those responses might disappoint you. Nevertheless, you must stay safe and if I were you, I would wait till you're a little bit older. The time will come, however, and when it does, you will be able to meet him and it will be as magical as in your thoughts!

Ultimately the choice is yours and your parents whether you see your boyfriend now (rather than in a few years) and we cannot stop any of that - but we want you to be safe! I would say two things in this regard: if you meet him, either take one of your parents with you, or invite him to come see you in your state. Second, since I'm unaware of the particulars of your situation this could be difficult, however, I would see if you can get your parents to speak to his parents (through skype video call or facebook etc.).

          Best of luck!

          James
