How are you spending the holidays?

What is everyone doing for the holidays this year?
    Are you seeing you SO?
If not, what plans do you have?

Me and my SO haven't talked about what to do on Christmas day yet, but at the moment we are video calling everyday to open our chocolate advent calendars together.
Neither of us have our Christmas trees up yet either. I plan to get pictures of me doing mine though, but I'm not sure exactly how I'm gonna pull that off, as I don't have a tripod.

My SO is flying back home to India for the holidays... we've actually never spent these holidays together in four years. But, I'm glad he gets to see his family after a year here. I'm working the Christmas holiday and going back to my parents' house for New Year's, probably.

My partner is coming to visit me. His flight is in 2 days. It's been 4 months since last time we saw each other. So it will be great. He won't be with me for new year as he couldn't get the time off from work, but at least we will spend Christmas together.

My Christmas plans are a bit up in the air just now honestly. I got time approved off work so i could go home to see my family, but sadly it doesn't look like that's gonna happen. I realised i'd much rather spend christmas with SO than with my family so am staying here for it. So far as things stand our possible plans are as follows:
Seeing So's mum and partner 24th, seeing her grandparents 25th, seeing her dad and partner 26th, and possibly having our own little christmas with our gf 27th. that would absolutely mean having 3 christmas dinners 3 days in a row, not sure that is the healthiest thing which is why i'm not sure i want it to happen haha

We have made some progress now. We have agreed to a call on Christmas day (morning for him), before he goes over to his Mum's for the day. Still don't know what time though. I said for him to tell me when he knows what time he's going over.

I just gotta say... my SO got here on Wednesday and he's staying here through Christmas and New Years...

Today I'm working from home for half the day, so we're both sat on the couch doing our respective things, and we're just vibing so well. We're browsing the web, reading each other things we're working on or reading and having such great discussions about them. Tomorrow we're going into the city and then meeting up with some friends for dinner and karaoke. I'm loving how well we mesh.

We will be staying with my parents for a few days around Christmas so we can spend time with them and then also going to my aunt's house for a big Christmas dinner. I'm not sure what we're doing for New Years yet-- a friend mentioned that he and his wife might have a New Years party, but that depends on his wife's work schedule.

              So, here you are
              too foreign for home
              too foreign for here.
              Never enough for both.

This sounds similar to my plans with SO for next Christmas.

Just me, mum, dad, kid, and friend from work who has no family (we are his family and have been for 25 years) and that’s it. Very quiet and lonely for my kidlett this year but hopefully next year will be better. SO will do his thing for Christmas Day. Likely won’t talk. He doesn’t message me around family or friends as they don’t know about us yet (not that sending a message should impact, they don’t know who he’s messaging!) anyway, so I don’t expect not to hear from him. Looking forward to a quiet day but still sad that we don’t have lots of family joining us for my daughters sake.

I will be alone for Christmas. My SO over a video call will likely be the only person I see on Christmas day. I don't talk to my family, and I don't have any friends. I don't even have a tree this year, cos it broke. Decided not to bother getting another, as my future Christmas plans will hopefully be in AZ.

I'll survive. It will make my future Christmases all the more special.

Well at least it’s nice and cold there. Unlike here which is disgusting and humid!!! Hopefully next year you get to be with your SO. Great to put a positive spin on things. Merry Christmas!!

I said that, but I'm now sat here in floods of tears.
