I found out this week that I'm going to be a grandma o.O my 17 year old is going to have a baby in May and while I can say it's a shock... we are ok with it and now are just having fun planning

My SO is the one that makes me laugh... he is still in shock LOL this is the man that said there would never be kids here and his friends are having a good time ragging him about being grandpa at 27 o.O

Gruff as he is he is really a big softy and I expect he will be as enchanted as the rest of us by then. I think it's going to be good for him to be honest.

Congrats! I guess it is a shock, but I believe that by supporting your daughter and looking at the positive side and having fun with it you are doing the most wonderful thing fo your daughter and your soon-to-be grandchild! And being a grandpa at 27 is hilarious! In a similar situation, my mother's fiance is a great-grandpa!

I've already warned the SO's son, who is also 17 that I am not yet ready to be a grandma because I am way too young at 34, but guess your guy has me beat

Thanks everyone no sense in being down about it, it is what it is so we will make the most of it. I have three of my own, she is the youngest and so while its a big deal is very doable. I think he is so used to the girls he knew getting pregnant and then quitting school but she comes from a long line of strong women so he will see. He's been more of a dad to her than her own dad since we moved so he's worried and protective.

It's all going to work out and I have lots of crocheting to do this winter lol

Oh Leilani, you crochet!! Totally derailing your thread for just a second, can you give me some tips on learning to crochet well? I have got the stuff and I understand the basic mechanics but I can't seem to get it down really well so I haven't done it for a while. Any tips?

Oh boy, congrats! It'll all work out, I got pregnant at 17, and 24 years later, both me and my kid ended up doing pretty OK

Mackenzie no worries! Yes i crochet and knit both there are some videos on YouTube that are awesome! If we were closer I'd give you lessons as i used to teach it! It's very therapeutic!
