30+ How to get my SO sing this song to me willingly ?

Hiding from the rain and snow
Trying to forget but I won't let go
    Looking at a crowded street
Listening to my own heart beat
So many people all around the world
Tell me where do I find someone like you girl
    Take me to your heart
    Take me to your soul
Give me your hand before I'm old
    Show me what love is
    Haven't got a clue
Show me that wonders can be true
    They say nothing lasts forever
    We're only here today
    Love is now or never
    Bring me far away
    Take me to your heart
    Take me to your soul
Give me your hand and hold me
    Show me what love is
    Be my guiding star
    It's easy
    Take me to your heart
    ...
    Standing on a mountain high
Looking at the moon through a clear blue sky
I should go and see some friends
    But they don't really comprehend
    Don't need too much talking
    Without saying anything
    All I need is someone
Who makes me want to sing
    Take me to your heart
    Take me to your soul
Give me your hand before I'm old
    Show me what love is
    Haven't got a clue
Show me that wonders can be true
    They say nothing lasts forever
    We're only here today
    Love is now or never
    Bring me far away
    Take me to your heart
    Take me to your soul
Give me your hand and hold me
    Show me what love is
    Be my guiding star
    It's easy
    Take me to your heart
    Take me to your heart
    Take me to your soul
Give me your hand and hold me
    Show me what love is
    Be my guiding star
    It's easy
    Take me to your heart....

I am very uncomfortable singing in front of anyone. My SO has begged and pleaded with me to sing for him and I won't do it. I think it would mean more if he did it because it was his idea and not cause you wanted him to.

NOTHING could make me sing in front of my boyfriend. Seriously it would have to be a life or death situation otherwise.... nope! I know its a nice idea but if hes not comfortable then singing a song is going to be really tough!

Haha you bashful people are too cute! if you are in love then even terrible singing is adorable!

If you wanna get your s.o. comfortable enough to sing then your best bet is to do it yourself! Not a whole song just say things sometimes in a musical voice. For instance "la la la I am checking my email and my insufferable boss is bothering me la laaaa!"

I've started working with a girl who does musical theater and I have to say its infectious! I even catch myself singing things in my own head now. (Sign of crazy? Perhaps!)

I'm with the others in that I would never sing to my SO. and I'm certain he wouldn't sing to me either. While it may be super romantic in your head, it probably won't be so cute if he's doing something he doesn't want to do.

Feel free to give him hints, but I don't recommend forcing your SO into singing for you. You can always sing yourself to open him up to it. Alcohol usually helps as well.

Yeah I usually do silly things that I only know it is silly after I have it done hahah but it makes him smile or laugh hence im not so embarrassed I've found out there is no way to make him sing for me. But your idea is excellent Blackfamez I will have to try it!! Because I am a Woman in love...la la la la la la...

My SO will sing to me or when I can hear him but if I say anything about it he will stop.. or if I ask him to he usually wont do it. XD
The thing is, sometimes he is just in the mood to sing and other times he isn't. For the past two nights he has starting singing for no reason while we have been talking (<333). When he is doing it on his own terms it isn't putting him on the spot or putting any pressure on him (which can make people nervous and shy/embarrassed at times). I also don't think it would be very romantic at all to have someone sing to you because you asked them or convinced them to do it.. but maybe that's just me, idk.

The best Idea would probably be to sing around him yourself, like others have suggested, and maybe hint around that you have always wondered what it would be like to have someone sing to you.. and maybe even send the song lyrics to him saying that you like that song?

This. This is only one of the reasons that I love this man. XD

Lol, When I'm happy I like to sing, so why not for her, especially when I have a song that makes me think of her or us I even learned the lyrics to a song she liked just to sing to her , though I'm not so good at singing lol

For my SO's Christmas and birthday present 2011/12 I did a serious of videos of me playing his favourite stuff on Ukulele. I did some from Star Wars, the Top Gear theme tune and the Dr. Who theme tune. Those were all without words. But I also wrote a song called "Scott" and sang that to him in a video. He loved it. I'm not the best singer, but he did love that I had put so much time and effort into the whole thing. Either way, I can see why it would nice to be sung to. I don't think he would ever sing that song to me, he's not a majorly romantic guy. I mean, he is in his own way, but not really into love songs and such.

I think i would be mortified if my SO started "serenading" me... I feel so awkward in these situations and don't really know what to do with myself. I am so not the type for big romantic gestures, or I guess any romance of the poems-and-songs-in-my-name kind.. they make me cringe and want to hide away.. therefore, I guess it's a good thing that my SO can't sing for the life of him
On the other hand though, I have very talented friends and I love music and people singing and playing guitar .. so I totally get the OP wanting her SO to sing the sing to her and would do as others have suggested, i'd sing a lot myself
