So I got up this morning and decided that I needed to go back on my diet, which by the way I hate using that word... but anyway I remembered I saw someone on here the other day saying they wanted to lose weight. My sisters work offers a weight lose challenge and I thought maybe if anyone is interested we could try to do the same on here. We could do this a couple of ways, just have an area where we could set some goals, give dieting tips and share low fat recipes and support one another and on a certain day each month share our weightloss amounts or I was thinking we could do all this and somehow make it a challenge. Maybe if anyone who wants to do this can contribute $5 dollors into a pot and who ever loses the most weight gets the money to use toward travel exspenses. There would be details to iron out and alot would have to depend on the honor system. Maybe if we took pics standing on the scale lol. I am not really sure but my 1st question would be who would be intrested in doing this and any suggestions on what and how we can? I just figured it's another thing to occupy myself till I get to see my SO and to look and feel better as well. We could even get signatures with our start weights (only if you feel comfortable) goal for the month and a long time goal. Just a suggestion. So Let me know what you think?

This sounds like a nice idea. Its always great to work towards a healthier you. I currently finished my weight loss and i'm at my ideal weight. I'm now trying to put on some muscle mass. Gotta look good for my lady!
I lost more than 120 pounds this year. I'm known as a nutrition and fitness guru everywhere i go. Even the Chef at my culinary school consults me when he's gonna teach a nutrition class. My classmates ask me for advice all the time. If anyone wants some tips, i'll be more than happy to help.

Everything I know, and anywhere I go, It gets hard but it won't take away my love,
And when the last one falls, when it's all said and done, It gets hard but it won't take away my love

Kinda off topic (sorry OP) but:

I can't really afford to lose any more than maybe 2kg right now, but I'd really like to have a motivational group to hang out with, get fit with, stuff like that.
Some people in the past have been very mean to me because I'm naturally thin (not skinny by any means! But I don't struggle with weight)... what I'm asking is.. well...
Would I be welcome to join in anyway? Would it make any of you uncomfortable having me on the 'team'? Am I going to cop flack for not being chubby?
Just assessing my welcome really... I'm a decent motivational speaker! (At least I think so!)Happily married to the little Canadian boy I never thought I'd meet in person

I'd like to join too, but I'm down to my last 5 pounds. I've lost about 15 pounds total, so it's not much (wasn't especially big to begin with, but bigger than I felt comfortable with). These pounds make a big difference to me, and it was not an easy feat!
I really love good food, and I've never been very active. But I've been able to be successful with small changes and patience. I'd be happy to share with others what techniques I use.

Tomorrow will be the start of my change. I bought a book ages ago called "I Can Make You Thin" by Paul McKenna. I have the CD on my iPod now so it'll make it a lot easier to listen to. The book repeats itself over and over again, but I'm hopeful it will work.
My tip would be to chew food slowly. I always have done and I don't need big portion sizes, so I eat less. I'm a little overweight than I should be, but I'm hoping to lose a little weight by Christmas to look nice for my SO.
