What are some things to do when you are feeling sad or down while your significant other is at work or a sleep? My bf is 8 hours ahead of me so I get these feeling down feelings every now and then. Any advice?

I usually try distracting myself as much as possible and try not to stay at home since being at the computer reminds me he's not able to get on. I window shop, walk the malls for exercise, drive around listening to music, just anything to exhaust my free time. If/when I get I a job I imagine that will help as well. But yeah, usually staying busy and taking up hobbies/making new friends or hanging out with ones you have is a good way to keep your mind off the frustration of distance and, hopefully, cheers you up.

Sometimes I draw or write a poem for him when he's away. Then when he gets back on I can show him. But yeah, basically keeping yourself busy with other things is the key to not getting depressed all the time. Trust me.

I try to keep myself occupied by doing other things. Reading, watching a show or a movie, spending time with friends, find a new hobby to start working on. Sometimes I have to turn my msn and stuff off just so I won't sit there and wait for him to come online because I catch myself doing that a lot.

Im into card making so if im stuck at home when feeling that way i put a film on and make some cards or at the moment im working on a scrapbook for our one year anniversary and that is really helping at the moment. If im at work i tend to put on some upbeat music and clean the office or throw myself into my paperwork. Although im quite lucky being in the same time difference as my SO means i can call him or text him whenever i want and he has been very supportive

I read.
Watch a movie.
Look back at things he's sent me...reread previous conversations.
Write my feelings down on a piece of paper like in a diary or journal.
And if i'm talking to my SO, I'll tell him how I'm feeling and he sympathizes with me than makes me feel better =)

I would always play computer games (hidden object games) or clean when I felt like that.
