Parents interfering in my LDR!

I know some people who just don't see an LDR as a "real" relationship by any means... maybe your mum is one of those people. Judging by her "If he really loves you he'll let you go" comment, it sounds as if she thinks that your being in an LDR is tying you up and preventing you from having "real" relationships.
If so, probably the only thing you can do to help open her mind and show her the bigger picture is to hang on tight with your SO, endure, let your happiness with him show through into your everyday life. And most importantly... I recommend taking the high road whenever she makes disparaging comments regarding your relationship. It will be hard not to jump on the defensive and strike back, but if you do, in her mind it will only add more fuel to her fire over your LDR. If you can remain diplomatic- "I'm sorry you see it that way mum, but he makes me happy/I feel this is best for me/etc"... it will help to build her respect for your LDR rather than detract from it. If you show her this makes you happy, and that your relationship is built to last, her point of view may shift... but it WILL take time. I wish you two the bestWe collided and fell out of nothingness... scattering stars like dust
