    Post LDR

    Hi everyone!

I have been living with my boyfriend for over four months after being apart for two years (I visited for a month in between) and it's been absolutely wonderful.
He goes away for work every two weeks for a couple nights and I miss him so so much when he does. I know I shouldn't even complain - I mean I finally get to have an everyday life with the one I love but I missed him so much before that I find it hard to have him away even for two days.
I only work a few hours a week so I guess it doesn't help being home alone!

Let me know what you think and if it is normal for me to feel that way!
    Thanks, Debs

Perfectly normal I miss Obi when he's not home too.
Welcome to the forum! You should contact Michelle to get access to the Alumini (sp) forum.. There are a few of us here who have survived the distance but like to still hang out.
Happily married to the little Canadian boy I never thought I'd meet in person

It's normal. You didn't close the distance to be apart, yanno?

I noticed you mentioned you don't work a full shift - have you tried perhaps getting involved in local volunteer efforts and the like? It's a great way to get involved iny our community and make friends. ^^

I can imagine that it is still hard. Infact, it might be even harder in a way because you get really used to spending all your time together then he is whisked away again! For me, the hardest time is right after one of our visits.. It takes me a while to get back into my own routine without him.

As for feeling lonely, try and do some volunteer work or take a new class that you have always been interested in. Something to channel your energy may help.

Hi Silviar and thanks for your reply! I have always been interested into volunteering and I've contacted an organization but they don't need me at the present time.
It is also hard for me to go to places as I don't drive (just passed my knowledge test this morning actually!) and I moved to a very small town. So basically if I am going to town I have to stay there for quite a while and it's not very convenient! I take cabs here and there when I need to be somewhere but it's starting to be a little expensive. I am looking for a professional job (to be able to apply for permanent residence) but it is been quite the hunt!
Anyway, thank you for your support! Something will come up soon hopefully!

I miss my friends and family so much when he is not around. He's become my everything...It makes me feel so vulnerable! I used to be so much stronger than that (but I had never been in love before...).
