What is the reason for the distance?

We're long distance because of where we live. He's in England and I'm in the States. I'm still in uni so there's no plans on closing the distance soon. I'm hoping we'll be able to in 2012.

My SO and I went to the same middle and high school for 4 years...but at the end of my sophomore year my family moved to North Carolina because of my dad's job. We fought and fought to stay together, but my parents made me move out here with them

Oh well, the ldr has brought us closer in a lot of ways, and I'm a senior now, we will probably go to college together

My man wanted to go travel the world.. it's as simple as that.

Preparations for his journey to South Africa and Australia were already set in motion when I fell for him, so I knew what I was getting into.. Plus, I'm very familiar with the urge to travel (I went to New Zealand alone for a year in '08-'09) so I was (- and still am) 100% supportive..
The original plan for him was to go traveling alone for 9 months... buuuuuuut, we quickly changed that to "only" 6 months apart and 3½ months of backpacking together..

So, right now our plan is for me to fly out to him in Sydney in mid-March, then travel New Zealand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia together.

So: I'm RIDICULOUSLY excited.
I get to see my guy (♥), revisit beautiful NZ AND experience Asia... all in one go.

We were long distance because we were both in grad school at different universities. Now we are long distance because he took a job overseas, which he will be back from in March. We may or may not close the distance depending on our job situations then.

We meet for the very first time in Macau Tower, on our holidays. My SO originally from German and I am from Indonesia. First when we're together in Macau, i thought it was just the holiday fling-because its scientifically true that we tends to easier falling in love when we're on holidays.

I love him very much, and he is a blessing for me-from all cities in the world, we met there-more to bump to each other, and falling in love.

We still over 10.000 kms apart until today, but we promise each other not to gave up!

We met on a band trip in high school a few years ago, and kept in touch casually. We live in the same province, and I had friends near by so if I was around he'd come meet me for a while. Then we both moved out of province to almost opposite sides of the country before any feelings started. We're working on who's visiting who in Febuary though!

We met for the very first time when I joined the gym he worked at and starting taking the class he taught-student and teacher

We at first had passing conversations when we saw each other both in that class and at the gym other times, then started hanging out my last month. ^^ Now I'm back in Cali, and he's in Beijing, because my degree requires I take specialized classes here and can't just keep being abroad...

Because I am in South Carolina and he is in Rio de Janeiro...met on a language exchange/pen pals website in April of 2010...I met many of my online Brazilian friends there and so I went to Rio and we met in person in November and fell in love at first hug.
We spent an amazing 18 days together and have been going strong ever since. He is much younger than me and still in college with the hopes of graduating next year but might go for his Master's which would require another two years. I travel back to Rio on Feb. 24th and will spend 25 days with him this time. We will talk about future plans then as much of what we both are waiting on we will find out in March.

We met when we were both in college in Michigan, but when I graduated I moved home to Seattle and he stayed in Michigan, where he's from. One of us will move eventually, but both of us are a little stubborn

We're in different colleges in the same state. He might be going farther come next year, but still in NY. I'll have to wait and see and pray for my sanity.

D lives in Ontario, I live in New Mexico. We met in DC through a mutual friend (she and I used to both live in the DC area, she moved back home to Canada a few months before I moved to New Mexico) when mutual friend and I reunited for the first time in a few years. Closing the distance is definitely a possibility (it makes more sense for me to move there), but we're not making any commitments yet because the relationship is so new. I'll be visiting Canada in March, and we'll see how things go from there.

My SO and I met online, so that is just the way it worked out but i do plan to move in with her sometime when shes ready hehe!!

School for the most part and work. We were full swing into our university careers when we met so we figured with the difficulty that comes with transferring credits and that there are no schools that offer his program really well or any that offer my minor it just wasn't convenient.
