Jesse just logged off Skype and started his long trip to Finland! Well, his first flight isn't gonna take off for another 2½ hours, but he needed to buy some stuff before going to the airport. He's gonna be flying from Spokane to Phoenix to London to Helsinki, and it all takes about 20 hours if I remember correctly.
The past few days have been crazy - for a little while it looked like Jesse was getting sick, which in his condition would've meant that he couldn't have come here at all. Fortunately it passed, but the worrying isn't over; the flights are the riskiest part of the trip for him, since he's gonna be around so many people (and their germs) and it'll be exhausting as hell. He's gonna be escorted in a wheelchair, he has surgical masks with him and he might get oxygen on the plane.. but I'm still so nervous. :P I also have these crazy thoughts about him getting lost or missing a flight, since it's his second time flying and first time he's traveling outside the US.
All the worrying aside - goddamn I'm excited. For the longest time I really thought that he'd never be able to visit my home country, but here we are. I bet it's gonna feel surreal to have my family and Jesse in the same room, like two different worlds colliding. :P
Now I just need to try to get some sleep, since I have to wake up early for the day centre. He will be arriving in Helsinki at 9PM tomorrow. Wohoo.
