    1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?
-I think that communication is the most important thing in a long distance relationship. Since you can't see one another every day and can't connect on a physical level you have to go to what's next and that's talking and connecting on a mental level.

    2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?
-We use the internet maybe 4 nights out of the week. Since I try to stay off the internet while doing homework (it's distracting! ) we text a lot instead.

    3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?
-Well we met through the internet. Before we started dating we used the internet so much to talk. That's because we were still getting to know each other. After awhile we exchanged phone numbers and it was easier to text instead of sitting by the computer all day.

    4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?
-There isn't any negatives that affect our relationship from the internet.

1.Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?

It's def. important because we don't see each other. If we didn't talk every day, there wouldn't be a relationship.

      2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?

We don't talk a lot on the internet, b/c we prefer texts, but we talk on im once a week.

      3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?

The Internet has given us the ability to see each other when we are in our respective homes through Skype. It makes send him gifts easier and it def. helps our communication.
      4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship

Facebook has a tendency to make me jealous from time to time.
"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love " ~ Theodore Seuss Geisel.

        1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?

I believe communication is key in all long distant relationships, especially if one or both partners tend to worry if they haven't heard from their significant other in x amount of time. It's also important because without it you're merely making assumptions, you're not on the same page on issues such as who visits who, who moves, etc. You can't tell what someone's thinking, especially when they're so many miles away, so you have to talk things out or at least be open to it. As well, for most communication is all you have. I myself only have text messages to communicate with anymore and they're important because it's a way to him, it's a connection.

        2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?

The use has dwindled down since his work hours picked up to 70 or so hours a week but it used to be it was the main gate of communication because we could be instant with messenger services or leave 'notes' via e-mail. I believe the last time we spoke online was November of 2010.

        3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?

It has given us a way to know each other better before judging one another solely by looks, what we wear, anything one might look at in person before saying 'hello'.

        4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?

Misunderstandings. There's no tone of voice with text, there's no inflection so things can be taken wrongly very easily and you can't always choose your words carefully. I remember one evening we got into a bit of a spat because on AIM I had left a status message that were lyrics from an angry song, just because I had been listening to it at the time. I left them overnight and he saw them the next morning, assumed it was about him, and got mad at me. In retrospect it seems silly, but that's how easily things can turn wrong with text.

          1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?
It's essential... without communication you'll get and go no where. If you can not communicate in the fashion that allows yourself to be 100% open and honest (and your so doing the same) your relationship will fail eventually. Unless you are a mind reader or you are content living that life.

          2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?
          Everyday.

          3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?
Firstly, it was how we met. Second, it's how we stay in touch (I'm in Kansas, he's in Norway) it is also how we can "see" each other, play games, talk, type, send messages and everything else normal couples can do at home.

          4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?
Honestly, with him, none. The only one I would say... which doesn't exclusively have to deal with the internet but after leaving being in person with them, seeing them on webcam again is hard. Very very hard. It's a big mix between being happy to see their face and a huge slap reminding you, you're away again.

            1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?
Communication is vital in a relationship. Without communication, I feel you have nothing. You need to communication in order to maintain your relationship and in order for your relationship to progress and grow.
            2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?
We rarely use the internet. My boyfriend isn't really into computers. Ironically, we reconnected while using facebook, though.
            3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?
The only positive impact the internet gave to our relationship is that it allowed us to reconnect after many years. I guess that is a big positive, though!
            4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?
Nothing. We don't use the internet, but I think it would be fun if we could use skype once in a while. I think that not using the internet gives us less options for communication.

              1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?
Communication is even more important then in a close distance relationship, because it's pretty much all you got. You need to be able to get your feelings across without any physical contact, and it can be pretty difficult at times.
              2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?
Every day, after he gets home from work, if not just for a few minutes to say hello.
              3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?
You appreciate the time you spend together more and you don't take the relationship for granted nearly as easily as you would close distance. And the internet makes it so much easier to talk because you can still do things together like play games and webcam.
              4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?
It's hard to not be able to touch them, to go for weeks without any hugs, and apologizing after a fight is much more difficult. Also when there is a problem with your internet connection it can be devastating.

                1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?

Absolutely. Effective communication is essential for all relationships. Without the ability to do so, a relationship will fail, no matter what the distance.

In an LDR, it's even more important because you have no physical touch to sustain you - everything must be done through the lens of distance. If you don't have communication, in some way, then it's difficult to maintain a relationship.

                2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?

                Daily.

                3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?

It allows us to instantly communicate and be in each other's daily lives. I love letters, but I also love getting to have time together like a real couple - eat a meal together, watch a show together... we can do that thanks to instant communications.

                4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?

I don't think it gives many, for me. The only thing I can think of is talking on the internet leaves you open to multitasking and distraction, since you're at a device that offers limitless entertainment opportunities, and the lack of being focused on can sometimes be frustrating when you want couple's time.

                  1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?
Yes I think its extermly important. Without good communication then its not really a relationship. It basicly be just titles. but really any relationship needs communication, and LDR just needs more to make up for the lack of phsyical connection.

                  2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?
We use to everyday. now It's a few times a week. We're in a communication lull.

                  3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?
We're able to talk and see each other.

                  4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?
It doesn't generally let you express yourself very well. you have to be able to replace physical things you would do to express your emotions with words. other times things are taken wrong because you can't hear the emotion behind typed words.

                    1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?
Communication is one of the most important things in a relationship. Without communication, you can't really be close to each other emotionally, mentally, or in any way.

                    2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?
                    Every day

                    3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?
It allows us to talk face to face when we're not able to over the miles

                    4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?
I can't hold him in my arms or touch him in any way. The physical aspect, of course, is completely gone. But being able to read his face and know what he's saying through his eyes when the words won't come out makes up for the lack of physical touch that distance takes away

                      1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?
I think it is essential to our long distance relationship, because it is all we have, and communication is important to all relationships. We are also best friends so it's even more significant to our relationship because we tell each other pretty much everything.

                      2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?
Every day, as much as we can. The internet is our primary source of communication with each other. We use it to research topics together, tell each other about our days, stare at each other over webcam, and more!

                      3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?
It enabled us to meet, get to know each other, and fall in love, and it enables us to keep talking to each other and growing more in love each day.

                      4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?
When my boyfriend is sad about something, I can't give him a hug. It's easy to get distracted by the temptation of going to other websites.. checking email and such. Though the majority of the internet is a positive thing to our relationship.

                        1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?

It is important in ANY relationship, because miscommunication can lead to frustration, arguin, bickering, etc. You have to communicate your thoughts and feelings in a way your SO can understand. Unfortunately, not everyone can make people sympathize. You definitely have to be willing to listen and understand your SO. lol
                        2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?

Quite frequently, Definitely throughout the workweek. he has no phone reception where he works (he works in the remote mountains), but he does have his trusty dial-up internet!!! Sometimes it doesnt work well at all. We can maybe video chat in about 3 minute spurts. And keep having to start a new video chat over and over again. lol. keeps things entertaining.
                        3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?

Well, I can chat and sometimes see my SO even though he is 1700 miles away from me, and in a different country. I'd say it helps a lot. I wouldn't necessarily thank the internet though, I think bottom line, its our willingness to be with eachother that helps me sit in front of a computer for hours. Also, talking for hours helps us get to know eachother more and more every day.
                        4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?

see #3, I sit in front of the computer for hours sometimes. Of course, it only really negatively affects my life, but in turn might stress me out and then he gets worried. lol. but, Nothing specific to the relationship. Actually, unless you count Facebook...(Facebook Drama). I've had it before with people I saw on a daily basis, and apparently it even happens internationally! lol the only thing is that its makes it 100000 times easier for it to drive yourself crazy when your SO is 1700 miles away!!! HOWEVER, in turn, if your strong-willed it makes you FORGIVE and LET GO of any jealousy issues that might come up because of FB. I've learned you just have to let it go and trust your SO.

Because if your gonna be with anyone communication is always the key to a healthy relationship, if your arguing over something you have to communicate what the issue is, if you love that person then you have to communicate how much, ect
                          2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner? everyday
                          3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship? i have someone i can talk to, someone who knows me, someone who understands me, someone who loves me for ME!

                            1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?
Communication is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing in any relationship... HOWEVER that importance its multiplied ten-fold when in a LDR. So yes, I'd say is very, very important.

                            2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?
                            Every day.

                            3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?
The internet is the reason we met
But RIGHT NOW it gives us a chance to see each other face to face on skype, and to IM when we wanna talk more than texting but can't talk on the phone yet.

                            4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?
The only one I can think of is when we skype, and we see eachother and it's a rush of complicating, conflicting emotions.
Happy that we see eachothers faces, facial expressions, smiles, etc.
Sad because we see eachother but cannot touch.
The distance seems a little less but so much more obvious at the same time.

                              1. Do you think communication is an important thing to your relationship? Why?

I think communication is important in every relationship, whether it be long distance or not. But for ldr, it's especially important since it's the main thing you have. For me in particularl it's important because I'm a pretty talkative person, and I'm into the whole English thing, writing, communication, ect.

                              2. How often do you use internet to communicate with your partner?

Every day. We use skype a lot. Sometimes we'll just leave it running while we go about our business -i.e. while he does homework or while I'm writing. It's nice to see the person even if you're not talking to them. Sometimes even if we're not in the room we leave it running, I don't know why...we just do.

                              3. What kinds of positive impacts does Internet give to your relationship?

It lets us see each other and keep in touch. It's the fastest form of communication. Also we can watch movies together with it or play games.

                              4. What kinds of negative impacts does internet give to your relationship?

I worry sometimes about one of us getting bored since we do talk a fair amount. But usually it seems we get more bored when we try to leave it closed and end up texting each other instead. It can get to the point where we run out of new ideas from time to time. And also, I think sometimes it would be nice if we did send each other letters rather than just IMs or emails.
