    Mutual vacations

    Hello all you wonderful LFADers

I'm so excited! My SO and I are booked to take a trip this summer to Las Vegas once we are both done with summer school!! I'm absolutely thrilled! We will both be 21 also Though we both aren't really big drinkers, it adds to the fun lol :P

For those who have gone to Vegas, what shows would your recommend? Even if they aren't there anymore, what shows have you seen? What sites would you recommend we visit? We'll be there for 4 days

This will be our first trip visiting a different place together. All of our trips our entire 7 years together have been back and forth between our homes in Florida and Oklahoma. It was always inconvenient to book anything anywhere else. Now, we finally get the chance!

For those of you who have gone on mutual trips, tell me your favorite story and where you've gone!

We've never been to Vegas. Gambling isn't really my thing, and he isn't really interested in going there either. We have been on vacation together a few times. Most often to the condo that his family owns outside of Destin, FL on the beach. We make it down there 2 - 3 times a year for at least two weeks at a time. That's our favorite.

We've also been on vacation to Sandusky, OH for several days of roller coasters and water park fun. Oh, and to Cincinnati for the zoo, aquarium, etc.

Oh, if you're into musicals you might wanna see if you can get tickets to see Phantom of the Opera while you're in Vegas. I hear it's gorgeous (I love the show, but the theater it's in, in Vegas was built specially for it so it enhances the experience) and it's a love story. I'm not familiar with what else there'd be to see in Vegas but I imagine there's lots of tourist stuff, and yummy food.

        Congrats
Going on vacation together is so much fun and you'll have a lot of time for just each other and get to know new things together, which is also cool.

My boyfriend and I have been on one big (~1 month) trip and serveral small (1-3 days) together. And I've made a map of places in Europe that I want to visit together with him in the future.
So far my favourite trip with him was to Vilnius, Lithuania. It was in the end of September last year. We had the most beautiful weather (which is anything but normal for that region and time of the year), Vilnius is an amazing city and we had tons of fun. We both like sight seeing and he's a perfect guide and had everything planned out. It was probably one of the best trips, I've ever been on.
Actually tomorrow morning we're leaving for another city in Poland that we both have never really been to. My boyfriend has been going through maps and possible museums and sights all day. Unfortunately we're only staying one night, but I can't wait.
And I can wait even less for when we'll actually live together and have enough money to visit all the places I want to see. Prague, Budapest, Iceland (our honeymoon!!), St Petersburg,.... I'm looking forward to travel to all these places with him

Hahaha I live in Vegas! I'm 20 minutes from the strip! I hope you really, really enjoy your stay! Don't talk to strangers though and don't go down dark alleys hahaha! Being a Vegian, I'll give you my advice. I'm not 21 so I don't know all the older places for drinks or anything but I can give you some places I really enjoy!

Shows I enjoy: Lion King (is absolutely amazing!), and Cirque Du Soleil show, especially "O" and "Mystere" are incredible! Phantom of the Opera is pretty good also if you like that movie. Umm we always have comedians in town if you check with your dates you might find someone.

Almost all resturants in hotels are very good. The Venetian Hotel is very beautiful and you can take a gondola ride inside!
The fountains are something you should obviously watch! There's also a pirate show by it, I can't think of infront of what hotel though...
There's a M&M factory and off the freeway there's a pretty big "outside mall" called Town Square. It has good resturants and classic stores/a movie theater.

There's a ton of great pools in hotels that have (pretty pricy) all day passes! It is VERY VERY hot in the summer and I think that would be a great thing to do haha.
I can't really think of anything else off the top of my head....there's a Margaritaville if you're a Jimmy Buffet fan also.

I hope you enjoy your stay!

You've come to the right place! The Boy and I only meet in Vegas!

Problem is, there is so much to do - even if you went for a week, you'd never do it all. I do suggest a stop at the M&M World store to get personalized M&M for your relationship. As far as restaurants, the Hash House at Imperial Palace is the bomb.

Since you are going during the summer, I'd suggest staying close to the pool. Some of the pools are "sexier" than others - so you may want to check that out. As far as ambiance, Caesar's and Mandalay Bay I think have the best pools. Luxor's pool used to be good, but when we went in October it didn't quite have the same vibe. Speaking of Mandalay Bay, they have a shark exhibit, that costs money though. The MGM has a very cool lion exhibit, that costs money too....I'm trying to keep this as free as possible and then spend money for bigger stuff.

As far as shows go, admittedly, I've only seen "adult" shows there. Fantasy at the Luxor was good; Peepshow at the Planet Hollywood was better. Crazy Horse at Flamingo is not bad either - my ex H loved that show, but it's been in Vegas forever, so I think he was just used to seeing it.

Which reminds me, as far as hotels with a younger vibe, I'd go with Planet Hollywood, The Palms or Hard Rock Hotel. Keep in mind though, only PH is on the strip. Palms and Hard Rock are off the strip. Oh and PH has Pink's Hot Dogs! Pink's is an L.A./Hollywood landmark and is fantastic! Oh the Diablo Bar is still in front of the Monte Carlo - that's a great place to hang out.

Oh make sure you catch the Fountain and Light show at Bellagio. It runs all day but at nighttime it's the best....Treasure Island is still running the free pirate show outside, I think. The Stratosphere. Circus Circus and NY NY have roller coasters; Circus Circus has midway games, like at a carnival.

Geez, so much to do....this post is already getting huge. So I'd tell you to check out TripAdvisor.com or Vegas.com to get some more ideas.

You all are so wonderful! Thank you so much! I love hearing about stories and THANK YOU SO MUCH for the tips/recommendations/etc! I've only been once and I stayed at the MGM. I was young, so I didn't do much. We both don't gamble, so we aren't going for that part. We are going for the shows and just being able to go!

We will be staying at the Flamingo. We want to see the Beatles LOVE Cirque Du Soleil, for sure! Restaurant tips are WONDERFUL! We are always into eating yummy food! Again, THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!!

My SO and I were in Vegas in the summer. We went to a comedy show which was fun, we got free entry to the playboy club so we checked it out. It was nice but I felt a little out of place! You can spend loads of time walking on the strip and seeing all the hotels. Also the outlet malls were fun, picking out clothes for each other. We stayed in the MGM and it has an AMAZING pool! It was nice to spend time by the pool and play around in the water. If you have the money too a helicopter ride to the grand canyon can be romantic. The lion exhibit is free, btw....its an open glass window in the middle of the casino It was free at least in September when I was there. Perhaps babygund was there more recently?
