    Mailbox surprise

My SO and I officially reached 1 month LD status on April 1st (definitely wish it had been an April fools joke ) I've been doing different things to help alleviate the distance between us, and one of the things I've been doing is sending greeting cards. I've done it almost weekly since he moved. My guy is extremely sweet, but not really creative when it comes to stuff like that. So I never really expect anything more than a txt or phone call, and maybe chat on facebook if I'm lucky (my computer is super old and can't handle webcam chat). Well, today I came home from an extremely long day (I'm a preschool teacher ) to discover a card from him. I was so happy I couldn't decide if I wanted to dance or cry. I'm still grinning.

Have your SOs ever done anything unexpected that just totally made your day, and maybe even week?

Haha yeah, he had asked if he could send me something. Was for no reason, and course i said yes. I was expecting a letter or maybe a picture. He sent me his whole outfit, lol i mean everything, along with a letter, but lol i was laughing when i opened it his shirt and pants and everything! lol, but i love them and wear whenever i really miss him. So made my day and whenever i wear brings a smile to my face.
    I love you Nathan <3

My SO has surprised me with a telegram before. Twice in fact recently! When we send packages we normally know about it, so the telegrams were wonderful surprises. Also her latest package she sent me, I thought it was our usual small packages, but this one was a big one, with a soft toy, chocolate and a new mug. And not even for a special occasion.

I love it when my SO surprises me. For Christmas, he sent me a pre-Christmas present. It just had a few small things in it like chocolates, books, and tea. He said the reason he sent it was because he wanted to make sure I had something to open from him on Christmas. However, he came to visit me, and it still hadn't come! It came like the week after he left in January. It was still nice, though, because I had had a long day that day.

My Marine was in boot camp over Christmas 2010. On December 1st, 2010 it had been one year since we met in a car crash. He had his mom organize flowers and send them to me. It was a dozen red roses in a gorgeous vase. Then his mom and him had organized my Christmas present so that when I opened the card, it was a card from him with the present his mom had got me. It made me tear up. It was the most romantic thing he had ever done and I couldn't believe it especially since he was in boot camp. I had been getting letters from him every week so it just added to the excitement of receiving mail!

I'm jealous! I wish my boyfriend did that kind of stuff. Maybe he'll think of it one of these days

My boyfriend rarely sends me anything, but he always sends my daughters things. So, I think it kind of evens it out since he's pretty thoughtful with them. Although I wish he'd send me stuff sometimes. It's definitely a nice surprise when it does happen.

my boyfriend has flower's sent to me on valentine's day this year, and i didn't expect it, with him being in another continent. it made my heart melt <3
and he too isn't that creative and doesn't write letters, while i send him one every week, but he sent me the sweetest one with the roses, and i too couldn't stop grinning

That's so cute! I'd love for Anthony to send me a letter....there's just something about a hand written letter. I send him a care package each month that he's away at college, when he's either not coming home for a break from school or if I'm not visiting him. I'm not ever expecting anything in return from him because I love him and it makes me happy to make him smile. But, around Valentine's Day, I got a package, and he sent me a beautiful necklace with a Valentine's Day message! It's an anatomically correct heart, and I am a bio major, so I love it, and never take it off.

"Do I love you? My God, if your love were a grain of sand, mine would be a universe of beaches."

Like a drum, my heart never stops beating for you.

I like that and when you do send love postcards or love letters it does alleviate the pain of a long distance relationship! I like my man to be mysterious too. If my man shows too much love then it's not as fun so I like it when I'm just surprised!

I asked my SO to get me a bear for Valentines day because I just love to snuggle. Well...he got me this HUGE bear that's half my height haha and then he also bought a really gorgeous necklace (even though I told him not to get anything else) and it was very romantic <3

It helps. He usually calls me when he gets them and we talk for a bit. It's nice to know that something he's holding was in my hands just a couple days ago. It helps me feel a little closer to him

then, about 2 weeks before our 1 year anniversary, he randomly decided he was going to come down and see me. that was unexpected also. i thought we would just skype on march 26th 2011, instead i got to spend a few days with him(:
