My SO and I used to text 24/7 literally, with a 5-10 minute phone call at night while he's out walking the dogs. But now that he's got work and a lot of summer activities going on we text a lot still, compared to most people here at least, but those phone calls don't come anymore, and I very rarely get to see him on web cam because he has to wait for his family to fall asleep and with the 3 hour time difference it's quite a hassle.

We usually talk everyday when possible, but at the moment we are going through a rough time. His family is in the process of moving so they don't have internet, and the only phone he has access to is his parents' prepaid phone. So for the past month or so, I have only gotten to talk to him every 3-5 days. Its tough but we are getting through it. Only true love can make it through something like this. But OMG I cant wait till he gets internet back, I feel so lifeless without him to talk to.

We send the occasional text, but neither of us have international text plans. We send at least one facebook message to each other a day and try to skype a couple times a week. It's been more since I've had a night job so time zones aren't so off. We don't have tons of contact everyday but we are okay with that.

We talk everyday.
We can't call or text because of being in the US/UK.
But we Facebook and Skype. Usually we skype for 3-5 hours if neither one of us is busy, and we both have Facebook Mobile, so we have constant contact

These days it's roughly once a week I 'talk' with my SO, and by talk I mean get a reply to a text message. Fewer times than that does it become an actual conversation. He works 71+ hours a week, 7 days a week, and his computer's currently busted so texting is all we have. When we first began dating we talked almost every day, late into the night, but as his work became more demanding our time just dwindled. It's difficult, but it's a hell of a lot better than nothing at all.
Ahh. I know exactly what that is like. When my SO and I first started dating, we talked pretty much every day. This included a lot of texting and/or IMing and talking on the phone. His work is physically demanding (Construction) and a lot of times he has to work on Saturdays...but since November or so he's been going back to the gym to get back in shape like he was while in the Marines...So now I'm lucky to get one text from him in a day. A lot of times I don't hear from him. We maybe talk on the phone once a week if I'm lucky. Its really difficult and sometimes I wonder if he even actually wants to talk to me instead of maybe feeling like he has to if that makes sense.

my boy and i are international too, and we text/pm eachother quite often; normally its whenever he wakes up to when i have to sleep (which always seems to get later haha) so from as early as 4pm (sometimes) to 12 or 1 or 2 or....XD and sometimes i get cute little messages to wake up to <3 ; the only time we don't really talk is the beginning of the weekend because i need wifi to text him and we both have a tendency to be busy on friday/saturday
but we're bad XD we both (if we're both awake) text during classes (not that his university cares, and my academic year is about over anyway lol)

Me and my SO use skype. I turn it on when i get home from work at 4pm, and we talk all night til i sleep at 1am. so about 8-9 hours a day, with breaks for dinner etc. Even if I or she wants to watch something on the tv, we just mute skype and keep it on whilst we both do other stuff.

Me and my SO are international too (7 hour time difference)
We talk on the phone a few times a week, but since i changed my mobile phone package (thanks to a head up on here! https://members.lovingfromadistance....hose-in-the-UK ) we text during the day and he can call me now when he couldn't before. We use msn alot and facebook aswell.
It is possible you just have to do your research on communication tools and take a good look at your schedule and see where you have common "breaks" to chat.
Good luck!As long as there is air in my lungs... there is a chance
