Ill probably be upset, actually, yes Ill be. I am mindful of the things I do when were away, so not to add extra stress in our feelings/relationship. I of course expect my SO to do the same thing. Just my thoughts.

I'd be upset in the same situation. I don't think you're overreacting and I think you have every right to feel like you were disrespected. If he doesn't see that, then he's kind of being a douche to be honest. It sounds like he doesn't really care too much how you feel. I'd be thoroughly upset by that. I don't really have any advice though. Sorry.
