How long did it take you to meet your SO for the first time?

I've been with my girlfriend for 18 months - I met her for the first time at the beginning of June. Was the most magical 2 weeks of my life and I miss her every second. We have plans for her to come here in May 2012 - so 11 more months to wait. Sigh.

We met in February 2007 online, then we met in person November 7, 2007.
We've technically been together/in love for 4 years and 4 months, but we consider our "anniversary" November 7.
So it took us, 9 months to meet

Also, Sierra (>> hope I didn't mix up any letters) I have a similar situation. My relationship isn't exactly a "relationship". But I think I've always been a bit uneasy bout it, because there's always a chance this sweetheart I'm stuck on could move on forever and I'm too much of chicken to risk losing him. Maybe if it takes 7 years, idunno.
I'm so jealous of most of you :P (but happy for you) if next year it doesn't work out, the next real concept of meeting would be me studying abroad to be in aus with him. It's a bit frustrating that that would be another 3-4 years on top of this 3+ . Just have to find where my patience has run off to, I guess

Thank you! I agree completely with what Zephii said. I don't think we've ever done anything in particular. Everything has always come pretty effortless with us. We've never had any fights or huge arguments about anything. Neither of us have ever had any serious relationships with other people, not that we would anyway since we've known each other since we were 15.
We have the same interests and the same tastes for everything. We understand each other almost in a sixth sense way. We both know there will never be anyone else for us like we are for each other. I mean, we kind of grew up together.
After such a long period of time and having such an amazing connection to someone it's unthinkable to let anything get in the way. Although I'm still completely anxious and panicked beyond belief to meet him next month! More and more as it comes closer. Ahhh..

I just think that if you're both on the same page with each other the entire way, things will go how they should go.
