First visit is actually happening!!! OMG!

Hiya. okay my SO and I just booked tickets for him to come visit me on the 21st of JULY!! I am SO EXCITED I CAN'T WAIT AND I CAN'T STOP SMILING LOL. We have never met before, so this will be our first time. He is so set on this that he wants to stay here for as long as his visa will allow - 3 months.

I have no qualms about that, but I am just worried that he might get bored. I don't feel that we'll get bored of each other, but I feel that he'll get bored being here. There is a lot to see here in Sydney but there's only so much you can do haha. This is going to be the biggest test ever, because he'll be living with me for 3 months.

ANYWAY apart from that, I just wanted to know, has anyone ever had their SO stay for that long before? And on a first meeting too? I don't know if we're jumping into things too quickly, but this visit has been a looooooooooong time coming.

I can't say it has since I went from CD to LD in my relationship, but I don't think you should be too worried about running out of things to do . I very much enjoy just hanging around in the house with my boyfriend. Sometimes I guess we just don't mind being lazy jaja. We'll play video games (like the New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii since it can be multiplayer) or watch Friends (yah, that show from the 90s jaja!) or connect our DS's and play each other. We'll cook together sometimes too, or put a movie on. You can always spread stuff out, instead of doing everything there is to do outside in Sydney, divide the time between home and going out? :P

      I agree ^

Although my visit to see my SO was only 3 days, we didn't leave the house for those days except to shop for a bit of food. For a little perspective, I traveled from Chicago to England to see him, and while I love being a tourist in England, I love the time with my SO FAR more.

There's just something so intoxicating about being in the presence of your SO. We couldn't stop touching one another -- hugging, kissing, my falling asleep with my head on his chest while we watched TV. We could have spent several more days like that, just basking in the wonder of "it's really you! You're here in front of me!"

And you're Sydney, not exactly a small town. You'll be fine, he shouldn't get too bored.

We only did 5 weeks our first meeting, not 3 months, but boredom was not an issue! We were only planning on a week, maybe two, but his mother of all people said, go, stay longer! o.O
Anyway, he came to Kansas, USA. I don't live on a farm or in cornfields :P but this is not an exciting place at all. As long as you two are happy, I don't think there is room for boredom to set in.

That's lovely news! and don't worry, he won't be bored of the place, he'll just love being with you that nothing else will matter

Distance doesn't matter when two hearts are loyal to each other.

Honestly it will give you a clue of if he really is someone who you CAN spend your life with. You never really know if you are compatible with someone until you live with them. You can have your exciting, going around Sydney days, and then you can have your I-just-wanna-stay-in-pajamas-all-day days. It will give you the chance to know the real him!

Exactly that ^ Being close to each other for the first time will make everything interesting, emotional, joyful. So have fun!

haha garnet, farm and cornfields. that made me lol :P

I think you're right morgan.. this will probably be an indicator as to whether I'll be able to live with him in the future if things do work out for the best and we end up closing the distance. I just feel uneasy because it's the first time ever meeting.

yeah I think I'm gonna space things out so things don't get too boring. but we actually both love staying at home so hopefully that shouldn't be an issue either :P

Aww! Congrats, that's exciting. I wouldn't say you are jumping into things to be honest. My bf lives in Canada and I'm in Ohio and he's already been talking about looking for a job in the states and trying his best to be closer. We've known each other for some time and started dating the first time he came to visit me which was in May. So we're pretty new =]

Overall, that is awesome to hear. It helps me get through the days thinking that I'm not the only one who feels like I'm rushing into things! ...which I'm not, it just happens that way! :3
