I spoke to my SO yesterday about maybe going to see him for the first time at the end of this year for my birthday/christmas present (my birthday is on november 25th). I still have to convince my parents to let me go though, so I can't celebrate just yet; but when I asked my SO what his opinion was about me coming to see him, he was extremely excited and couldn't stop talking about how happy he would be to finally get to meet me, it was the cutest thing 
So, for those of you who have traveled to meet your SO's, any tips for talking to and convincing my parents to let me go? I'm so nervous about talking to them about it, but I really want to go see him, so I don't really have a choice lol so I was just wondering how other's have approached this topic.
