    Charm bracelets, anyone?

Not sure where I was supoosed to post this, but I recently discovered the amazing world of european style charm bracelets (pandora, chamilia style), and there are so many amazing options to make a meaningful bracelet to fill slowly, or just because you find the beads pretty, want to make one with a theme, etc.

also, makes it easier on friends to know what to gift you, lol

just wondering if any other fellow LFAD'er has one, likes them?
i just ordered my first two beads, so excited! I want to make two or three bracelets (because I like the look of wearing two or three together), but will fill them slowly. one being a harry potter bracelet, one will be meaningful beads, and the other landmark beads for places i've been, and will add to that last one when i go to new places.

so, anyone here has one, wants one?

I don't have any, but I bought my SO a Thomas Sabo necklace for our 2 year anniversary. She loves it! It looks super cute. My mom is also a big fan of Thomas Sabo.

Daww, that is so cute! I got my two beads from etsy, the cutest owl I have ever seen, and a babushka. 925 sterling silver, one i want to go on my meaninful bracelet, the babushka representing my SOs russian heritage, and the owl will go to the harry potter bracelet.

I dont mind wearing it with few beads on it for a long time, as I am quite picky with what I wear, and I am missing wearing bracelets everyday. sterling silver or gold ones, other materials make my skin green.

when i was a child i had 10 yellow gold bracelets I would wear everyday, and would be all the time counting them, paranoid not to loose any! lol
they dont fit since i was 10 or 11, and I could force them into my wrist til i was 12, ROFL, but no longer. I still keep them, if I have a daughter someday I will give it to her, and hope she will love it as much as I did!

So now I want something dingling (is that even a word? ) around my wrist again!

I have a pandora and a thomas sabo one, while i really love both of them where i'm at getting charms for them is extremely hard. I got both of them in Toronto, so they each have a charm on it you can only get in toronto.

I got mine from charmish on etsy. really good quality and all you need is a paypal account. not original pandora but I think what counts is to wear something you love. and they are the same quality sterling silver as pandoras, just a little cheaper for some beads, some are the same price as pandora's. and I liked her owl and her babushka better than the original pandoras, lol

I love love owls! I have some necklaces and earrings of owls, but if i wear more than one or two days in a row it starts to hurt my ear or get green on my skin, so i guess i have low resistance for non gold or sterling silver materials

that is the owl from pandora. you can see other there:

I have a pandora, and so does Obi. I love thomos sabo so much more though. Obi and I have Sabo charms (a deer and a rabbit naturally) that I've actually had fitted to plain circular pandora charms so that we can have the strength of pandora, but the beauty of sabo lol. I don't much like the parrot-clip thing sabo charms have.

No one buys me pandora charms for some reason. They probably assume that because the primary role is as friendship braclets between Obi and I that they can't/ would be intruding. I might buy a charm for after we marry, or to represent each child or something. But I'm not sure yet.

i would LOVE to see pictures of your bracelets (both yours and his) if possible. my SO isnt much af a jewelry wearer, so ven though i think it would be great for him to have a pandora bracelet fitting with mine in a way, i guess he wouldnt use it. but i may make a bracelet representing him/us someday!

                          This one is mine.

I can't get a photo of his at the moment, but it's more or less the same. It's just bigger, and the pandora is acid-blackened (can't remember the term for that) because I thought the black ones were slightly more manly. And of course, his has a rabbit charm, not a deer.

Some people have mentioned that it's a little bit gay for him to be wearing, but he shrugs it off and tells people why he wears it.

one i would like to get matching with my so is someday a simple white gold bracelets with the coordinates from where each other was born or where our wedding took place!!!

if it looked manly enough I guess he would use it, i mentioned this idea to him and he didnt seem to have anything against it!
