Just wondering if anyone in USA can help. My SO is in the USA and doesn't even have a passport (yet!) and has never really been out of his own state before. Anyway due to events with my Grandma, I'm looking at booking him a flight from USA--> UK asap (I'm due to fly to USA in August but we're looking at him coming here in a few weeks). So two questions as he's clueless but is trying to work it out....1. How quick can you get a US passport? 2. What are the best sites to look on for last minute USA->UK flights?

I got my passport about 10 years ago so I’m not sure if I remember accurately. I think it took about a month from submitting the forms/pictures to receiving the passport. According to the US State Dept website, that seems about right. I can’t share links yet but it’s a quick google search: “how long does it take to get a passport?”
If he hasn’t already started the process, he can just apply through his local US post office branch. Passport photographs are cheapest through CVS or Costco.
Kayak(.)com is a good resource for finding cheap flights as it searches all of the major sites like Expedia, etc. He also might want to look into flying from a major international airport. For example, I’m from San Diego but for international flights, like Guatemala, I usually drive up to Los Angeles Intl. Airport because it’s cheaper to originate out of LAX (the flights typically are rerouted through there anyway).
Hope you guys get everything worked out for him to visit soon! When two hearts are meant for each other, no distance is too far,
