Birth Control Pill Question

Hey guys!
One week from tomorrow, I will be off to Germany to visit my SO!
However, I just noticed something annoying. I take birth control pills (Lutera), and I just realized that my placebo pills start next week, the day before I'm leaving on my trip :/
I really don't want to be on my period when I first see my SO. It may not sound like a big deal, but I only see him twice a year. I don't want to put off sex the first few days because of my period!
So, I was thinking about skipping the placebo pills for this month and just moving onto a new pack, therefore skipping my period.
Has anyone done this before? Did it work out ok for you? I know I should ask a doctor about this, but I thought it would be good to get opinions on it as well.

I've done it lots of times. Never had any issues but I know some people have break through bleeding.

same here i would skipp my period for 6 months never had a problem according to the doc you can skipp it for aboout a year or so (but talk to your doc first)

I've done it a few times, but I've always bled lightly for 2-3 weeks afterwards without fail. It looks like I'm just unlucky, though. It definitely will not hurt you--a birth control pill period isn't a real period, just withdrawal bleeding from not having the hormones in your system.

I do it every time. No time to waste I haven't had any problems so far.

Doing it once should have no risk. You might have break through bleeding. I used to do continuous cycle at doctor's order. I would just skip the placebo pills and only take them every three months. One of the benefits of birth control is controlling your period. Do call your doctor if your can. I'm sure they will think it is okay.

I think nothing bad will happen if you skip the placebo pills. Except, as others mentioned, you could get some light bleeding.
I actually take every pack of after each other, without the one-week-break or placebos (doctor's orders). So I don't think there is a problem for you with doing it once.

I had the same issue. When I would try to skip a period I would end up bleeding until the next scheduled period, so I decided to not skip any periods. But it seems like only few people have this problem.

If you're worried about break-through bleeding etc and you have a week or just over a week left, you can start the placebo pills the next time you take a pill so that you have your period before you go. Then you can add the left-over active pills onto the next batch so it'll just be a week longer, not a whole extra month.

Every time I go to see my SO I always just continue to take the next pack of pills straight after and I have never had any problems.
