Now I added his mom but I am not sure what I should say?

What would you suggest? Just saying hey and introduce myself?

Maybe say something about yourself like you would to any new person; what you do for work, studies, hobbies etc. If you know something about her (or ask SO for information) maybe use that to get to know her better.
