We have used Western Union from Norway to Turkey. It is a bit pricy, but you get the money tranfered right away and we have only used it 3 times, as I usually withdraw money for him/us when I am there. I would be interested in looking into more transfer options - although, turks have strange fascination for cash money, so I might just not bother
