    Missing him constantly

    Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this community, and I'm so glad I found this forum. I really just need an outlet to vent sometimes, but I also want to be there to support other members in this difficult journey.

My husband and I started talking in January of 2013 and now, over 3 years later, we are still apart. He lives in India and I live in the metro Atlanta area. We basically only met 2 days before our wedding, which happened on April 29th of this year. I lived with him for 3 months after the wedding, but the medical care in rural West Bengal where we lived was sub-par, and since I have some medical conditions where emergencies are fairly common, I almost lost my life in India. I came back to the US to try and bring him over but since we couldn't get legally married, due to some ludicrous laws there that require parents of the bride to sign the marriage certificate, we keep hitting roadblocks. I just miss him so much. I have really bad days and today is one of them. I feel like I'm all alone. My mother has bipolar disorder and was abusive to me so I live alone, across the country from my parents.

I would love to read your comments and/or suggestions. Thanks for your patience in reading this.

    Good luck,

    BTGP

Hi There... are you married or not I am little confused... Are you a US citizen? If not, how are you here?

Is your plan for him to move to USA? Would it be possible for him to get a temporary or tourist visa and you could get legally married in the USA?

Just as an FYI about that:

"Coming to the US on a visitor visa with the sole intention of getting married in the US and then filing for adjustment of status is deemed to be visa fraud, and US immigration officers do not take kindly to anyone they perceive has committed visa fraud."
To those who dream, nothing is ever far away.

I thought you could get married on a visitor visa, and you just can't file for an adjustment of status while they are in the country on the visitor visa.

Why don't you try to apply for a Fiancée Visa instead?
It's a lot of money, but it is a possibility to bring your husband / fiancée over here.
