From US having a Holiday to the UK for Xmas Period

Hi All,

I wanted to get some first hand experience of people travelling from the US to the UK to see there SO for the holiday period.

I have heard such horror stories, but in most cases there seems to have been a reason (i.e. no proof of funds, no return ticket, inconsistent stories etc etc).

I am fast approaching my holiday to the UK (2 weeks over Xmas) and am becoming ever increasingly anxious.

So was wondering if anyone that has and is going through trips to the UK (from the US preferably) to see your SO what has your dealings with immigration been like? am i worrying over nothing? is there any recommendations you can make?.

i don't have personal experiences from the USA, but in general if you have a return ticket there shouldn't be a problem. UK is a popular destination and relies on tourism and business from foreign countries so they can't make it too difficult.
