New to the forum

Hi! My LDR is nearing 2 years. We get to see each other about every six weeks, I know, we are fortunate to be able to do so. We Skype every once in a while and talk on the phone about once a week. Text good morning every day and just a few times through out the day. What I hope to gain from this community are ideas to keep things fresh and fun. And I hope to be able to give encouragement and support to others.

You are quite lucky with that indeed. Me and my SO are in the same case; we see each other every six weeks / sometimes every month.

But we do skype every day tho!! You don't have time for that, or you don't want that?

We used to Skype every evening, and for several months, we would leave Skype on all night long while we slept. But things evolved, and our relationship grew and our needs changed. We are busy and because of the differences between time zones and work hours, our Skypeing and phone calls have taken a back seat. More probably because we now know we will see each other sooner than later. It's wonderful that you and your SO Skype every day, and you have youth on your side which is sweet and fresh. Its also such a lucky feeling, isn't it, to know you will see one another always soon.

I do miss the all night sleep with Skype on routine, and am thinking of asking her for a 'sleep date'.

Welcome to the forum! My BF and I do not skype - hardly ever! To each their own. We are both busy busy with our every day lives and it's hard to find time to sit in peace (especially for me cause I have a 6 year old) and chat via skype. We too know that we will see each other soon enough...we are lucky to be only 954 miles apart - so texting/talking on the phone is fine for us! Glad to have you here, there's lots of support and great folks around =)
