    Preparing for the first Goodbye

My boyfriend is moving to Oklahoma. I came with him and his family to see where he will be staying and his new school and everything. So I will be leaving in a week to go home, and he will be staying here. It's starting to become more real and I really don't know how I'm going to deal with saying goodbye for the first time. I will cry for sure, and I'll probably refuse to let go of him. I just need some advice on how to prepare for the moment we've been dreading.

The best advice I have is let it out. All the sadness, any anger you get when you have to leave just let it out, don't bottle it up inside. My girlfriend lives in Oklahoma. And I've had to say goodbye 5 times and sadly it never gets any easier. But just remember its not the end. You'll see him again. And don't give up when it gets hard. Plus make sure you trust him 100%. I almost left my girlfriend be ause I was always paranoid of other guys. But I worked on it and I'm better now. Just stay strong. Don't give up on him. What town is he going to?

Maybe try to make plans for the next time you'll see each other. That way you will have something to look forward to. This helps me a lot because I know I'll see him again soon. Goodbyes absolutely suck though and they really don't ever get easy. If anything they get harder. Last time I went to stay with my boyfriend for a month I started breaking down a week before it was time for me to leave. But you'll see each other again. Also when you return home try to keep yourself busy so you don't get too depressed about being away from him. Obviously you'll be upset but if you keep yourself busy you won't have a bunch of down time to think about how much you miss him and make yourself more upset. Good luck!

Kevcakes, Sanney, thank you for your advice, you were both very helpful. I left yesterday afternoon. We have already made plans that I come visit in October, and that helped me out a lot. I didn't feel like I needed to cry, because I knew I would be seeing him again before I knew it. It was a bittersweet goodbye, he called me just after he drove away to tell me he loved me. That mix of emotions is indescribable.
