    I can't hang up...

Right now, I'm sat at the computer on Skype to my boyfriend, it's 23:42 and he's been asleep for half an hour... But I can't bring myself to hang up the call...

I did try to wake him up, but he only got like, 4 hours sleep last night so I'm leaving him to sleep...

But the sound of his breathing and his light snores are so comforting, and I hate it when he wakes up all confused because we didn't say goodnight... I can never really sleep when we're on Skype and I'm on the laptop rather than my phone (Not that my phone Wi-Fi stays connected anyway...)

I can't really sleep anyway, I'm ill and my headache is preventing sleep, but hopefully the ibuprofen will kick in soon...

Does this happen to anyone else? Particularly those in the same or similar time-zone... Do you just fall asleep with them there?

Yep, me and Melissa often fall asleep on Skype, either one of us does or we both do together. Lately it's been more of the first though because I've been going to sleep when she gets up. We have the no hang up thing too, haha, or at least she does. She completely freaking refuses to hang up, lol, it's both insanely irritating and insanely cute at the same time because I don't like hanging up either. So yeah, to answer you question, yep, we both fall asleep whilst on Skype.

We haven't slept together on Skype in forever, but it's always really special when we do. I hate waking up confused if I fell asleep on the phone and we didn't say goodnight. It's the worst feeling! I always end up calling him back and being like "What happened!" haha but you should totally leave your laptop on, just plug it up, and sleep with him

Thanks guys! Still feeling pretty awake even though it's past midnight, so I'll just listen to him a little longer ^///^

EDIT: Scratch that, Skype hung up for me Unless he did it in his sleep by accident... Stupid Skype, it really does suck sometimes...

We used to but now there's something wrong with my laptop so when I use my video card my laptop screen goes black although the comp is still on and I have to force a shut down x.x

Skype hangs up for me sometimes too, I think it's normally his computer going to sleep or dying. But yeah, like Shane up there said, I kinda refuse to hang up haha, that's his job :P So we go to sleep all the time. I actually went to sleep earlier while talking to him. I have a hard time hanging up when he's there too, I love listening to him snore, it's really comforting. I normally just mute my mic and go about my business listening to music and stuff, and we have our sleeping times kinda synced, I go to sleep a bit later with him still there. It's so nice having him there.

Uugh, Skype is horrible for hanging up for you. We have a bad connection too, so we end up with a lot of dropped calls.

The Boyfriend is always the one who hangs up with us too, when one of us has to go. With over a year of Skyping almost daily I can never bring myself to hang up. It's pretty sad.

I'm much too power-conscious to leave my computer on all night! The thought of you all leaving your computers on like this makes me cringe haha. Your power bills must be insane! Plus in NZ we have capped bandwidth so I can't stay on skype much anyway. We talk on the phone 99% of the time and we never do the sleep-on-the-phone thing... mainly because of the cost, but also because he'd fall asleep before me (time difference) and I don't wanna hear him snoring! :P

I wouldn't want to leave my laptop on all night either.. plus our internet connections are so not reliable so the call would probably end up dropping on us. Plus we can't sleep at the same time now because he has to go to uni so he can't stay up too late like he used to do a lot. One thing we used to do when he had an iphone was make calls on skype on the phone right before sleep (I think I used my laptop still because the connection on my phone wasn't any good)... and we've both shared with each other how sometimes we'd end the call and then a few minutes later wake up a bit and get panicky and say "sorry" or whatever because we thought we'd fallen asleep on them..

We sort of swapped over who hangs up the calls.. before he went to uni, and before our last visit, he'd usually hang up because he'd be going to sleep.. but now I end up doing it. We have our sort of "routine" of what we say before we hang up, etc, and so that makes it easier. It sucks, but we both have things we have to do so we have to hang up sometimes, but we ALWAYS know we'll speak "later today" (even if later today is tomorrow in my time still since I'm 8 hours before him) or "in a few hours".

I can never bring myself to hang up either, he always does it. I feel so bad and I miss him so much that I want to be able to spend as much time 'with' him as possible. Like right now he's asleep, but we had a Skype sleepover so I've left the call on
No time zone or distance or anything can keep us apart

Happens to me allll the time. 90% of the time I'll be the one who needs to hang up the call because I'll need to race out or I"ll need to go to sleep. My SO will fall asleep with the webcam on his laptop, but as I only have a desktop and it's not in my room, I can't exactly fall asleep there. That, and still living at home with Mum, and she would skin me alive if she found me falling asleep at the computer (let alone with a guy watching me on camera), leaving it on all night and wasting power. xD Anyway, it'll take me a good 20 minutes to say goodnight every night, because I dread hanging up every time. I'll agree with Squeeker though, we always know we'll speak later and it's very reassuring

i mostly always fall asleep to my bf when i can, but we do it on the phone because its free to call him. Most of the time im already in bed sleeping and will be on the phone and he will be either watching a tv show or doing work and im just sleeping. Lately because there was a 1 hour time difference if he went out, he would call me when he got home and id answer and just leave it there and he would talk to me, until he fell asleep...

I remember once he told me a bed time story, it was so cute i think it involved dinosaurs and jedis and some of the cast of friends, i think instead of sleeping i couldnt stop laughing

My SO did that to me once. She read "The Wizard and the Hopping Pot" from The Tales of Beedle the Bard I have also read to her indirectly. I recorded it and sent it by email. I intended to read her a book, chapter by chapter and send a new one every other day, but after the first chapter I got lazy xD

My SO and I always sleep with Skype on, we've solved the problem with it hangin up by using the invisible function so no one else will call and let Skype automatically answer the calls (to call someone that's invisible, click the "call" option on the toolbar above the person's profile, to let Skype automatically answer a call, click "tools" on the toolbar, then "options", "call", then tick the box that says "answer incoming calls automatically". If you tick the box below it will, as the box says, answer incoming calls with video). Get well soon
