Beginning

A fluttery feeling began it all
A nervous attention
Fearful of a fall
Too shy to mention
I am your silent reflection

Time slips by
Attraction begins to grow
I know why
And soon you'll know

Your hair is shining
Eyes flashing
I take notice
Soon you'll know this

A shy glance
A funny story
I'll take the chance
I know I won't be sorry

I ask for you
You say yes
Our first kiss
This love is true
We both see
We're meant to be

Beauty

Your eyes are blackened pools
I see myself reflected
In the starlight glittering jewels
Dark stones to be protected

Your hair cascades down
Blackened blades of fire
Nearly reach the ground
My hands hold them higher

Your skin is soft and smooth
Flawless, not a scratch
It's not hard to prove
That your beauty is unmatched

You are everything to me
And I would travel countless miles
To be with you and see
Your perfect smile

The future isn't always clear
But some things I see with clarity
I'll always be with you my dear
Together for eternity

Your heart beats with mine
Our loving hands entwine
They say like minds think alike
And we both know they're right

You don't have to say anything
Let's just lie here together
Our embrace says everything
We are forever

Patience is a virtue
Without it time will hurt you
All that keeps me sane
Is the thought of seeing you again

I love poetry. Obi isn't big on it though, and doesn't write for me any more. I'm not great at love poems though, I try not to be sappy. With that said, here's one of mine about LDRs....

Real life is a role-play.

Maybe it’s true what Shakespeare says,
we are merely players,
and the world is just a stage.

Well, I’m acting out life in two different places
So why does it feel like both are in stasis?
I’m waiting and watching the clock turning, no news
Half of the life I’m living’s a ruse.

Here I’m tending the baby, and holding your hand.
I’m scrubbing the dishes while kissing my man.
We’re watching a movie yet I’m vacuuming too
Then the lines become blurred – tell me which part was true?

Did my study while we were sleeping
I made you dinner, but I had to eat it
I caught the train but you heard the cliché
“Darling, you’re so close, but so far away”

Maybe there’s truth in Shakespeare’s word,
we are merely actors, upon the stage of the world
And my real life is just a role-play.

You know, your like treasure, if it ever rained in your heart,
I’d tried to find your rainbow,
and follow it till i found the key to your heart
which lies within the treasure chest.
If I could ever be on such journey.
If i would have succeed something in life a wonderful person with a golden heart only in my dreams,
I could ever make such a journey happen.
I’d have to swim river valleys upstream,
just to reach the teary part of your soul,
and climb the ladder of your destiny,
and fly through the space of your past as little stars that float to your eyes which make them sparkle,
I try harder and harder to get deeper and deeper into your heart,
and find the core purpose of all the love
and happiness you could never express in words,
yet with a kiss, a touch from your heart, a hug.
A word unspoken, an action to say, a smile made,
a connection between us,
a chance created out of so much effort to make you more than beautiful on the outside,
but to unlock the deep beauty of you from the inside deeper out,
so the world can see the God figure of you.
The more extreme part of you,
which is beyond any guys' power to reach.
For all that I know you, your worth every last breath a guy could ever take to reach that part of you.
For you are a wonderful and beautiful person in this world.
Only one woman would be lucky enough to reach such a point in your life and give you the unbreakable bond.
A moment where you, and her, don't have to say one word,
you know, the words aren't good enough to describe such passion you have for each other.
but a kiss, from the heart.
Represented through a hug.
The comfort joy.
Only others get a taste of what it's like,
but not the full load of joy that it would bring upon someone you love as many girls would wish to be

This is the first poem he wrote to me.. It was spontaneous. Coz he wrote it while we are talking on IM.

Every night I think of you
and when you're not there with me....
every moment, without you
seems like an eternity
I want a new life and i want it with you
it wasn't too long ago i found that i knew
It was love at first sight
when i saw you in facebook poker
I couldn't have written it any better
That my other half is a blue potato
Potatos grow from the ground and so did our foundation
rising up above, it's not our imagination
what we have is real, i'm so thankful
to know in this world that there's you i remember to be greatful
i have so many names for you sweets, love, my silly penguin
but some day I wish for you to be my wife, now that's better than silly penguin
Sometimes i think i see you near me
probably because i wanna hold your hand for eternity
just holding your hand walking side by side
i know for the rest of my life, that you will be mine
so until my time on this earth is done,....
...you are the one

p/s Just so ya all know why e said blue potato. Its because my blanky is Blue..and when i sleep he always say "you are such a cute blue potato"..then it become BluePotato..:-P

As I gaze into the midnight sky
My mind erupts and I wonder why
Why it is we are so far apart
Yet you feel so close in my heart

I told Brandon about how my best friend Erin (who's also doing long distance- with Brandon's best friend XD ) got a poem from Miles and how I thought that was super cute. A few weeks later he spontaneously sent me a poem he wrote me, completely out of the blue:

I stay awake at night
Feeling like things aren't right
Lying without you here
Is the only thing I fear
One day we will be together
And I can hold you forever

He's no poet, but it still melted my heart. Just the thought that he put so much effort into writing me a poem when he hates writing anything was just really touching. I thought it was really good for someone who hasn't written a single poem in their life.

Seems like it's mostly been girls sharing the poems their guys wrote them, but I don't mind sharing one...
I'm going to improv one right now, actually, and when she reads it on this site, hopefully she'll go SQUEE or whatever that noise is that girls make... lol

I dreamt of you last night, and you were laying in my arms,
I slowly stroked your silken locks, and kept you safe from harm,
And as you slumbered deep I couldn't sleep and just watched you,
And felt completely sure that you were dreaming of me too,
Your breathing slow, contented, as you snuggled in my chest,
While dreaming of the awesome life we'll share after this test,
My lips they gently brushed your lovely forehead and it seemed,
Had pleasantly awakened you from that of which you dreamed,
You smiled up at me and said, "my baby", that was all,
But from the corners of my eyes these tears began to fall,
For that was when I too woke up and knew that you weren't here,
Another seventy two days until I hold you, dear...

poem he wrote after a night of missing me :/ I fell asleep too early.

I slowly open my eyes
they are stuck from the tears
Of the dreams I had last night
I look around my room
Pick up my phone
Hoping, needing to see a message
There is one

Joy overtakes my world
I feel you in my arms
As if you were really here
I looks deeply into your big brown eyes
As if they were before my gaze

I sit down
Knowing that none of it is true
It hurts
When all you have is hope
When you love stronger than anyone
And all you have are words
No one but you and I know

I lay down

I miss dreams of you
