When my SO and I first started sending letters, I wanted to send him something extra special to let him know how much he was on my mind. With my first letter, I wrote a long letter telling him how I feel, then inside of the envelope I included a few things. I have this habit of doodling during classes, usually something involving him (something he said to me that day, a list of things I'd rather be doing than sitting in class which usually consisted of "be with Dakota, be with Dakota, be with Dakota!", random hearts and his name, lol), and I decided to start dating these doodles. When it came time to send the letter, I went through and found all of the doodles. Some were on paper, some were on the backs of Subway order paper slips (I work at Subway), and a lot of random stuff. Then I got some photo paper and printed out two wallet-sized pictures of me and a wallet-sized picture of me and him (the only pic I had of me and him at the time). When I got to his apartment two months later, he had all of them on his refrigerator! : ) It was cute.
For Valentine's Day, I got one of those bigger yellow 9x12 envelopes that comes with bubble wrap in the inside from Wal-Mart, filled it with fake rose petals that I had sprayed down with the Amber Romance body spray I use from VS, and wrote him a poem and a letter and put them inside. We had only been dating 2 months so I didn't want to over do it but I still wanted to show him I cared. It's funny because he was on his way to class when he got the package out of his mail, and he opened it in class and fake rose petals spilled out all over the place in front of his friends. He loved it, though! : ) When I got to his place, the rose petals were spread out on his coffee table.
Next I'm going to try the puzzle idea that others on here are talking about. I found where I can get a blank puzzle (kids/toys sections apparently sell them with markers) and I own a lot of acrylic and oil paint that I might use on them. If anyone has any ideas or can post examples of what they've done with puzzles, I'd LOVE it!!
