Save the Date Wording

Okay, so Nix doesn't like the save the date wording I picked out, he thinks it's "too barf-y".

It's written in the stars
that they were meant to be...
So write it on your calendar
There's going to be a party!

Save the Date
October 26, 2013
for the marriage of
[lyonsgirl] & [Nix]

He likes the 2nd half of the poem, just not the part about the stars. We want our reception to really be a party (we're not having a traditional sit-down meal, we're doing appetizer-style noms & we're not going to have enough sit-down tables for all of our guests; we'll have cocktail tables) So I'm trying to emphasize the "party" side of our big day in the save-the-date.

Any other suggestions? Maybe not a poem, or maybe one that's less cheesy? Lol. I tried thinking of some words that rhyme with party, but all I could come up with is smartie, farty (), and Marty. not sure how to make any of those into the save the date poem.... I guess if it came down to it I could just nix (haha ) the poem all together and just have the Save the Date note...

What do you guys think?

I don't know what words to use exactly but maybe instead of the first line (or two?) try to pick something that's more fun and party like? I'm just thinking because that will help with the less "barf-y"-ness of the poem.

I googled and these are a few that came up: "A Great Girl, A Great Man- Save the Date, That's the Plan!", "A romantic affair...
something special is in the air! Kindly save the date for a ________ marriage celebration uniting-", "We're taking the plunge!
Hope you'll be there to celebrate our flight.", "Our day is fast approaching and we can hardly wait! We hope that you can join us. Be sure to save the date!".

There's really not a lot for party type weddings. :/ I think as long as it's written in a fun and playful manner (not stiff and boring like some of the ones that came up!) your guests will get a hint that's a party atmosphere. Personally, I like the one you already have but oh well. Maybe someone else on here is an awesome Save the Date worder in disguise.

Maybe put party somewhere else in the poem so that it isn't the word that you have to rhyme? You could also try looking up pre-written ones online and see if you like any of those.

I just ordered my save the dates!! I sent a few of the suggestions to Nix & his choice was
