We're engaged!

I only posted in the What's on your mind thread but...

It's beyond me that you wouldn't think an engagement announcement would warrant its own thread, and yet others think that very trivial stuff shouldn't be consigned to blogs

SO HERE IT IS!

My SO proposed yesterday! It was very simple and sweet. We were just laying in bed together in the morning and he whispered "Will you marry me?" and I said "Of course." and he pulled out the ring.
Of course I'm a pain in the butt so I started being silly.

"Well....you DID get me a nice phone."
"And a nice ring."
"Yes, and a nice ring...and I doooo like your beard..."
"And I'm pretty good to you."
"Truuuue...Hmmmm...I guess we can get married."

It wasn't a big surprise or anything since we'd been talking about it for a while and we did pick out the ring together, but yay!



I have no idea when we'll tie the knot. Neither of us really want a big wedding or anything so we'll probably just do it at city hall...and then we get to start on visa things. Woo!

It really does look like an amethyst to me; I have an amethyst ring with the same purple coloured stone. There are a lot of differently hued amethysts. Of course Firefly's E-ring could be another stone that can form a purple tone like sapphires, tanzanite or spinels.

Firefly, regardless of what the stone is it looks beautiful but we would all like to know what type

Purple is my favourite colour! I've always really liked amethyst stones.

Cool! I love amethyst. My engagement ring was amethyst because it's my SO's birthstone. Mine was Rose de France amethyst which is lighter in color.

Anyway....I love your ring and congrats again!
