So, me and my SO are finally both ready to take the next step towards being engaged after being together for 2yrs and 7months roughly! We had a heart to heart on Skype, as lately he's been making HUGE hints about being engaged. So, what we agreed on us that when he's here for his birthday from the 10th June, during those 13days we'd discuss how we feel, in person, about being engaged in a physical heart to heart.
We want it to be mutual, as much as he'd have loved to be spontanous with a proposal, we've always seemed the type of couple to discuss things before we make a big decision - especially one on this scale. He even admitted that he's had the ring on a necklace (I have long thin fingers so rings fall off very easily) since March, and that in October he realised he was finally ready to take the next step in commitment. Whilst I've felt ready since April 2013, but neither of us pressured each other into the idea of being engaged.
Long story short, by the time he goes back to Holland on June 23rd, we'll be an engaged couple! I'm so excited for this next huge step in our life together, and I'm so happy it's him I'm experiencing this wonderful journey with.
