Hey Everyone,
I haven't been on in about a year and what a difference a year makes. This time last year I had met my SO in real life for the first time in June and it was the best time of my life. This year in June he came here to the US and we had a lovely vacation. My SO met my family and he also popped the question at our family get-together. It was another great time in my life and he even has an engagement ring too.
Now we're onto the big step--Visa process. I've submitted my K1 Fiance Visa back at the end of July. It was sent back because I forgot to sign something, silly me. But I sent it back and it was officially put in their system on Aug. 12th. Now the waiting game. It says 5 months to process our visa on the gov't website. Then who knows how long on my SO's end. I'm excited, happy, but also frustrated. I just hate waiting. I think it's even harder because, not only do I miss my SO terribly and it's harder since we're engaged, but also waiting for our life to go to the next step. I hate having this important thing in the hands of the gov't. Today I found out that in Sept. the fee for the visa went down $75 and the gov't won't refund anyone the difference. That's annoying. They better process my application faster since they got the extra cash. lol.
But I just wanted to share the good news of our engagement. Also, how are your relationships going? Anyone else doing their visa process?
Thanks for reading!
