I would like this one. I love sapphire (helps that it's my birthstone, and favorite color, too, lol)

Or, one that looks similar but isn't just plated gold

Here's my solitaire engagement ring - brilliant cut in a tiffany setting. I lurrrrves it.

The wedding band wrap that goes with it is pretty spectacular too.

haha - i know, right?! it's simple, but shiny and elegant. i can't really get the swirly one with just one stone, 'cause the ring i already have has three cubic zirconias. so it'll have to have more stones! what a shame...! haha.

Haha. Now you've all got me looking at what kind of ring I would like. I've always thought about it. I am determined to have a white gold, preferably platinum, engagement ring. I'm big on the belief that the wedding band should not be broken, ie. have stones in it. Anyway, the Tiffany's web site has an application for an iPhone that you can download to play around with different engagement ring designs. Hehe! Anyway, my dream ring at the moment would look something like this:
But... I also like this one: which looks a lot like the ring Matt bought me for our one-year anniversary.

And then there's this one, old faithful:

Can you tell I like to keep it simple?

That's a close-up side view of my engagement ring. Marquee cut on top with six small square cut diamonds below it. :3

    here's what I like:

I REALLY like tanzanite and white gold I would be very happy with any of those. I would be really mad if he spent a tonne on it though, but I think I have drilled it in to him that I hate him spending money on me, so he might at least take that hint. My SO is being a bestman this weekend, it's making me all excited for our engagement/wedding

I know Penn wants to ask...but I also know he wants to do the ring selection all by himself.

Unfortunately, that has meant little to no input from me about anything that's important to me: a small, ethically* mined (preferably Canadian) stone, and preferably received from a small, local jeweler, as they're more likely to work with you to get exactly what you want than the huge chains such as Kay, Jared, or Zales. (Not to mention that I really can't find anything I 100% love from those stores)

*technically there is no ethically diamond mining, so we'll just go with "not mined in a war-torn country that uses diamonds as currency for weapons"
