I don't really care precise dates, I've just always wanted a June wedding. I dunno why, but it's been a thing for me since I was a little girl.
My SO and I decided not to think about it until we're ready, which we both agree is when we finish school so 2016 would be the earliest, 2020 would be the latest.

We wanted to be our anniversary (which is also the anniversary of the day we first met!), but Obi's sister is a *bleep bleep* and we had to change the date to suit her. I think we both regret that.

So, we chose a date that would coincide with what his sister demanded as well as still being in summer but not being too close to christmas, and not too close to valentines day (because weddings are expensive on st vals). So it's 5th of feb 2012
Happily married to the little Canadian boy I never thought I'd meet in person

Aww thats really sucky! Families shoulnt really have any say over major decisions like that. But 5th Feb sounds like a wonderful date - I like 5's

He proposed January of this year and we knew we didnt want to wait too long. We chose March 26th 2012. It will be the two year anniversary of the first day we physically met.

Its also a few days before my birthday so in the future we can do get away trips to celebrate both and things like that.

Its also a Monday meaning everything is way cheaper for us which is great, but we chose it based on the significance of the date rather than the cost. - Its just an added bonus!

FYI - for those of you without a definite date set yet, definitly take into consideration the fact that summer weddings, weddings on special dates (St Valentines Day, Christmas day etc) and Saturdays (and any combination of the above) are all crazy expensive.

On the flip side days such as "Friday 13th" tend to be really cheap....wonder why? hehe
Tea and hugs make the world go round - don't ever discount the little things in life.

Smiling away to oneself brings an obscene amount of joy when only you know the reason why your smiling. Pick something secret to smile about and let it light up your face all day long!

And remember....Love really IS all around.

I have no idea when the date will be. We've been dating for 4 years, so I've been very restless and impatient about getting married, to his misfortune. He wants to get married too, he just wants to wait til we're both out of college in another year or so. But anyway, he actually wants the proposal to be a surprise The suspense kills me, but I think it's very romantic. I've always wanted a traditional "surprise" proposal. So exciting!

Same thing for me! :P We've only been dating for 2 years, but he does want to wait until we're both out of school (his degree is a 5 year thing, mine is 4...so while we both started school at the same time, I'll have graduated college before him.) And I want it to be a surprise too I'm really sentimental so it works out jaja

I've been obsessing about our future together lately and already planning our wedding. I'm hoping we get engaged next Spring, but as others have said, it's going to be a surprise. We aren't going to even look at rings together because I trust his taste and want to add to the surprise. The plan is for me to move to him in January 2013 after I finish school and then get married in May. I would love to get married on our anniversary, but it's on a Sunday that year while we want to do a Saturday wedding. I'm not about to wait for it to be on a Saturday again so we'll just have to pick a different day.

Choosing my wedding date was for 2 reasons. 1. because we had a very short window of time to do it in and 2. next year we are planning to have another wedding on the same day when he's back and that date will be on a Saturday so it can be a real celebration.

We are getting married March of 2013 if things work out the way we want. We picked March because every other month is taken by holidays or birthdays in both our families ex March and a spring wedding in sunny FL just sounds great. We picked 2013 because that is right after I graduate from my community college and he might be in the Army by that time and I will be going to a university wherever he is stationed.

Our date is based on when everyone will be available, and when tickets to Australia/America are cheapest since we have an international relationship. It all comes down to money for us, frankly.
