    Wedding invitations

So, I looked up and down, trying to figure the perfect invitation for my wedding. And it hit me:
    Passports.

I didn't know if I would have to custom order it or not, but to my surprise, just google it and you find tons of wedding invitations in the format of a passport. And you can customize them as much as you want.

Mine will be green cover with the lettering in the cover in silver (color scheme for the wedding).

here are some samples of pictures I found on-line:

I will custom the stamps and etc. I am really excited for having figured the invitation I will want, even though I dont have the date for the religious cerimony yet. (We will get married in the courthouse this coming january, but the religious cerimony will be july or august of 2013). And I am just in love. I don't think any other invitation would be as perfect as that for us. <3

I just really needed to share. haha

So, how your wedding invitations were, or will be, like?

These are my save the dates:

I got them designed by a lady who is building up her portfolio, so all I had to pay is printing and shipping She's awesome! We went for the old airmail style because all the letters I send to my SO are in those airmail envelopes The rose stamp is for my Yorkshire Heritage too I'm excited with what she comes up with for the invites maybe boarding passes; our wedding is Travel themed so there's going to be suitcases and luggage tags everywhere! those passports are amazingly detailed though, me like!

Ohh, I love your save the date cards! In some of the places I saw there are packages for the passports having boarding tickets for save the date in the same style, and it comes in a package, so I might go with that for the save the dates as I would save money and they would fit together!

My wedding wont be exactly travel themed but there are many many travel items LDRs items I will include. well, maybe it is a travel theme and I didnt notice yet? haha

        anyways, yours are lovely! <3 <3 <3

And I will stamp all the envelopes with a custom stamp I will order with our names around a globe.

like that, but with our names (maybe the wedding date, but im not sure, if we use just the names i can use the stamp afterwars for our letters, lol) and without the name of the shop on the inside, sure:

We're going to get train tickets!
It fits with our LDR and with my boyfriend's profession (he's going for a Master's in railway engineering). Actually now it's 50:50 for plane:train but we'll reduce the distance next year and then trains are going to be our main means of transport.
I think I want to stay pretty close to either the German or Polish style of real train tickets.
So they're going to look something like that:

              or

We'll include a small phrase book/language guide with the invitations, too.

@ Engel: Thank you! That's when our wedding is, our legal ceremony is sometime this coming March/April.... hopefully... I didn't start off with a travel theme either lol I was just having white and blue... but then I was like... old suitcases are awesome.... luggage tags would make great place names... and then somewhere down the road I just caved and decided to go with it lol I guess travel defines a lot of us on here as couples!

The boarding pass and passport Save the Dates and Invites, are a marvelous idea You can make them so totally personalized which is great!
