Take my gaming computer to the US

So I have a question for those who might have an insight of the procedure of taking your computer to the US.

I am going to visit my boyfriend for 75 days and since we're both gamers we're planning on playing a lot.
The question is now: May I take my computer (with monitor) to the US?
I asked my local airport and they say they can't give me any information, I have to ask the US Border Control. I sent them two emails and haven't gotten a reply yet.

This is the closest I have found.
Which basically means I have to get a carnet in my country, so I sent them an email and asked for the form to fill out since I can't find it online.

So other than telling me to keep pestering them

Has anyone taken their computer to the US and knows anything that would help me?

    Thanks in advance.

I -think- you can do this without a carnet, especially since it is personal and not professional and doesn't fall under any of the defining categories for a carnet ("commercial samples, professional equipment and goods for use at exhibitions and fairs"). It would be the same as bringing a personal laptop, you'd just have to pay for the extra weight/bag if you check it in a bag or something on the plane. It might be kind of expensive, though, because it sounds like it's a full desktop rig... not that a carnet is any cheaper.

      Thanks for your reply!
My local airport replied to my email and confirmed what you told me! The only thing I need is the receit that states that I bought my computer in Austria and not in America (which I obviously did).
