Kindle LDR Apps?

My boyfriend and I use Skype most of the time (he uses his laptop or his kindle when it works and I always use my laptop or my android phone) but I know sometimes he isn't always around those things or one of them doesn't work/isn't charged; so I didn't know if anyone had any ideas or references to kindle LDR apps (I know android has most apps too)?

Do you mean what else to use if he doesn't use his laptop or kindle? You are using Skype already on that I assume?
Just trying to understand what it is you are looking for?
