Best quality video chat?

Just wondering what video chat apps y'all are finding best lately. We used to have Skype but for some reason stopped using it. We mostly use Line video chat and Facebook video chat, but facebook especially seems to be pretty low quality lately and makes my computer heat up after a while. Should we go back to skype or is there a new chat app that people are using now? I heard something about something called Duo ... if it helps, I have a Macbook and SO has a PC laptop. We usually call for 1-2 hours. Thanks!

I've heard that Google Duo is fairly good, but I haven't used it myself to confirm. My SO and I use Discord to voice and video chat. Much smoother than Skype has ever been.

We use FB Messenger. Quality is not the greatest, but it's simple and usually reliable. We used to use Skype and Viber, but both of those had rough connections. Google Hangouts wasn't much better. It's all about what works for you!
