How has technology changed my LDR over the last 11+ years?

I sat back and thought about how my LDR has evolved over the years. It did get easier with the advances in technology. I did a lot of research and really felt old after writing this article.

So if you are wondering how technology can help make or break an LDR, read this. Skype and Facebook have not been around forever.

Amen to this!!!! My SO & I were in a LDR in 1997. I had a pre-paid minutes long distance calling card that I spent ridiculous amounts of money on so we could talk. There was no such thing as unlimited long distance calling. And if people think I am crazy now for being in this relationship, I know you understand how crazy people thought we were back then! It is far easier to do long distance now with all the new technology

I really don't miss those stupid calling cards. I love that I can pick up the phone anytime I want and call him. Although he is 6 hours ahead so "anytime" is a relative term, but you get what I mean.

My LDR is a modern one, so this was kind of fascinating to think about. I definitely take our connectedness for granted sometimes. So hard to imagine not being able to cam with him or share things on the internet together. Your story was inspiring I'm definitely writing him a letter now.
