One thing me and my SO did was quiz each other on stores and restaurants in both of countries. First, we would give the name, and then we would see if the other person could guess what it was. If he got it wrong, I would correct him and send him a link to it so he could learn more about it.

My SO and I did things like that as well.
We talked about our favorite snacks and gave links to them. It was really interesting seeing different kinds of food.
