Game ideas that don't involve the computer - please!

Hi! I'm after a little help - aren't we all?!

I'm wanting some fun ideas of games to play with my partner. We don't use the computer (Skype) as data for him is too expensive. We do on the other hand have mobile phones which support video calls and with unlimited calls between our two numbers we often spend many hours of the day 'together'. So I'm wanting to know if anyone plays any other games other than online games? Is it possible to play Monopoly and the such if we both have the board game? And what about card games? Please help me! Even though I love my man dearly, we all know that sometimes conversation runs a little dry.

any ideas at all would be appreciated!

Not really a game but me and my bf often take a 'snapshot' of daily life.
We send each other pics of what we are doing, if we go to a restaurant or shopping center or if we see something cool we take pics of send it to each other with small funneh texts.

Have you tried "Draw Something Free" by OMGPOP? It is one of the most popular social drawing and guessing games.
Scrabble Free is also a lot of fun. I am assuming you guys are using Smartphones?!?

I agree with Joy, if data is an issue but video chat is not, go old school! any game that doesn't really require much materials if any, cards would be complicated I would guess because once you shuffle it would get confusing with extra cards.

            charades,
            20 questions,
I spy (you would have to use something you see in his room and viceversa though)
hangman (just get a piece of paper each and let him see the change his guess made)
            truth or dare

things like that, we have never actually tried it, so I can't be more creative with my answers because we just use WI-FI and don't have to worry about data but those are the ones that come to mind.

You guys should play "What am I?" over the phone!! Each of you think of an object, place, or person that the other person is ad then you guess what you are by asking yes or no questions. It's way fun! You could also play "Would You Rather?" and share silly circumstances and which would you rather do? You could also play "Word Association" where you start with one word and then you each take turns saying the next word that pops into your head from the previous word. Also fun. Good luck!

Battleship is a classic, and works great over the phone.

Slightly different idea, but could you do things like crosswords and help each other do them together, maybe you can make one based on things you like, your favourite movie for example and he has to work out the answers with the clues you've given.

It's not exactly a game, but if you both like reading, why don't you read a book at the same time and converse about it every day or so? You could also each take a turn making the other listen to a song and the other one needs to figure out what song it is...You could always hum it to make it harder. Quirky ideas, but hey, quirky can always be funny as heck!

I love battleship! Always a fun game

My SO and I used to play tic tac toe a lot too

Also, if you like it, you can play an adapted version of picttionary, just draw on paper and make the other guess.
Also, creationary; just like pictionary but with lego and you build what you're tying to make the other guess.

Another game we really love is baccalaureate. You just need paper and pen.
Hold your paper landscape and make colums with titles as goes :
                      Letter / girl name /boy name/ animal/ thing/ plant/ city/ country/ food/ car/ total points.
One of you starts reciting the alphabet in his head, the other says stop and you have a letter to start with. You need to fill for each column a word that starts with that letter.
First one that has them all yells stop and you start comparing. For each word you get a point. When both of you have the same one you scratch it out and don't count it. Mark the total on the right of the line and start again with another letter.
The one who gets more points wins

This is a game I really love and it's great to play from 2 to as many as you want. You can also change the categories to ones that you like
Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.
And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends.

Truth or dare is the game I play alot with my SO. Even though dares are a little hard to think of, it can be done in a video chat xD. In general, we just ask each other all kinds of questions~ It's a nice way to get to know each other.
Hints is also fun to play ^_^ o
