Skype Sleepover!

My SO and I are in the same situation. I didn't really consider doing that, it sounds nice. I could imagine my SO would probably feel like it's pointless though XD he's a very logical man.

same thing with logic with mine...he wouldn't even agree to love letters...just not his type I guess. And I would hardly have a chance, because I live with family 24/7 with me, theres 2 rooms, bedroom and living room, so I don't really have my own room. I guess this just adds a bit to our LDR becoming like it's ending with all the distance and the rest but I'm happy for you guys.

My SO and I gave the skype sleepover a try, for the first time, this past weekend and we loved it!
We're definitely trying again soon!
I would love if it becomes a part of our routine

me and my OH tried this for the first time last night and it was amazing was so comforting to wake up and hear his breathing will deff be doin it again

We set up Skype to automatically answer calls as well.

How were you able to do this?
I am curious because my SO and I frequently "Skype Nap" and sometimes the call will get disconnected when we are asleep and I usually dont call him back because I don want to wake him.

Under the Skype settings, i think it's Calling tab (my Skype isn't in English), there is an option of automatically answering calls and also automatically showing video.

I would also totally recommend a Skype Sleepover! Although it can become slightly addictive - Austin and I started doing it maybe once or twice a week but then we were both finding that we slept a lot worse when we didn't have each other there on webcam! So now we do it every night, even when we have to wake up at 6am/1am to switch it off before my mum comes in to wake me up for school! I love it though, hearing him move around is the best and most relaxing thing in the world and I love waking up to him.

I would agree with Cat.
My SO and I used to just chat on Skype before we would go to bed then he'd just close Skype.
After a while though, he would fall asleep in the middle of a conversation and forget to close Skype... like tonight.. :P
I don't bother closing it either because I like just having his presence around.
I find that I sleep a lot easier too.
There are some nights where we don't fall asleep together on Skype and I find that it's much harder for me to fall asleep.

I'm so jealous of all of you! This sounds like it would be so amazing to do.... unfortunately my SO lives in a shared house with 5 other girls and doesn't have her own room to skype-sleep with me! D':

I don't think Skype sleepover would work for us as we are very touchy people, and skin contact is the one thing you cant do over Skype. I love the eye contact you can have over Skype but that requires one to be awake. We don't really talk much before we go to sleep when we are together either.

I kept a light on, so he had no problems seeing me. He had a light on at first, but it bothered him. Later, he turned it off. I'll have to say seeing him does really add to the experience, and I missed seeing him after the light was off. We are going to try it again with another kind of light in his room. When there wasn't a light, the screen was completely dark.

I saw a question in the thread about headphones and webcam mics. We use our webcams on our computers, not laptops, but the mics worked fine. I was able to hear even the slightest noise he made.

I can't say enough about how good this experience was. It made me feel like I was right there with him. Oh, the early morning "adult playtime" was super, too. It was nice to wake up in the early morning hours in the mood and have him right there! We definitely made some wonderful memories last night and this morning. Sharing coffee first thing was good, too. It's just great being part of his routine.

I'm always saying how you have to strive to keep connected in an LDR, and a Skype sleepover is a terrific way to do just that. When I woke in the middle of the night, peeped at my SO, I heard noises in his house. He later said he heard noises here. So, we were connecting the two places at once. I could be with him and vice versa, as much as possible that many miles apart. God bless the inventor of webcams!

Oh I must add ; we have done Skype early in the morning and I really liked that. It was a little bit like waking up beside him for real. Plus it is a good excuse to show myself because I sleep naked anyway. It would be weird to suddenly put clothes on in bed. And I love to Skype with him at night (too much). Maybe I will try the sleepover some day... But next month he will be sharing room with 6 other guys and I don't want to do sleepover with them too

I'd be surprised if you didn't like the sleepover, so why don't you try it before the other 6 guys are there? I can't say enough good things about the experience.

Well, sleeping arrangements now is not perfect for u. now either. I sleep with my husband and he sleeps in the living room of his friends ' flat. We might still try it, if I slept in the living room.

We do this every night and have for months! There is a five hour time difference, so I have to stay up a bit later and he tends to have early nights, although just recently we say goodnight and then he goes off for his dinner and to watch some TV before very quietly joining me. My alarm wakes him up and we chat for a few minutes before I get up and he goes back to sleep. I love it!
