    Good Recipes for birthday cookies?!?!?!?

So his birthday is coming up soon, and I'd love to make him some delicious cookies. However, I'm used to just cooking the slice & bake kind, but this time I really want to try to make them from scratch. Anyone have a favorite cookie recipe?
Also keep in mind that the cookies will have to survive in the mail for at least a few days.

I'm quite the cookie baker - my friends all over the world (no joke) ask me to send them cookie packages. What sort of cookies does he like - does he have a favorite, or any allergies? That's really important. PM me or respond here, and I'll send you 1-2 recipes.

A cookie baker? You wouldn't mind sending one more package would you? Just kidding! As for cookie recipes... I hear a lot of people talking about Anzac biscuits. Apparently they survive for months, so perfect for sending them in the mail!

Uh huh, sure you're kidding! First it's the jokes, pretty soon you're wrapping up a box for Christmas.

...although you know, it'd be fun to arrange a cookie exchange on LFAD. >.>

Generically speaking, by the way, you want harder, heavier cookies. Doing bars instead of cookies works better than, say, chocolate chip round cookies. Snowballs/Mexican Wedding Cakes are really good because they're solid and don't tend to crumble as long as you package them correctly.

Really, just about anything can be sent if you package it correctly. Cooking in a temporary aluminum dish means you can put a top on it and send it, and it'll be stable.

Also, as goofy as it sounds - Rice Krispie Treats. Everyone loves those things, and hardly anyone makes them.

Well of course he likes the generic chocolate chip cookie, and once I made him sugar cookies cut into christmas shapes and decorated them, he really liked those too.
He also has a really strange obsession with oranges, he LOVES them. So I don't know if he would like any orange-flavored cookies or not lol. I found a recipe for Orange Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies in a cookbook, so that's a definite option

Orange and chocolate go well together, but my real concern is that the cookie is kind of a light cookie, so the chocolate chips might all sink to the bottom, if that makes sense. What about if you made chocolate orange frosting for the top instead? That would probably work better.
