In my previous LDR, the guy I was with wasn't able to video chat. But we still wanted to have "dates". There was a 9 hour time difference which also made it a bit difficult. So we came up with picture dates.
We would sit down to a meal (or movie or anything you wish to do) and we would take funny pictures and send them back and forth. We would take pictures of the food, the place we were at, the people we were with, and anything else we wanted to show them. Of course we would message each other too, so that we were talking. But it was fun to sit down and constantly send funny pictures back and forth, and it made us feel closer to each other. Its not as nice as video chatting, but we just didn't have the ability to video chat at the time.
I just thought I would share this for anybody else who maybe doesn't have the ability to video chat but still wants to have "dates".
